Youtube is now allowing any and every user to download all of their own videos, no matter what format they were uploaded in. They will be downloaded in a Low Quality .mp4 format, which means you’ll need Quicktime Player in order to view them.
The upside of this is that is saves your title for you. But the downside is the unusually bad quality. Either way, it’s fast, convenient, and compressed and works perfectly!

Youtube, apparently realizing the pitiful limitations of this feature, has seemingly removed it altogether instead of actually making it better. Gods, Youtube, you continue to fail again and again. Like this awful “load more” crap that forces us to slowly go through people’s videos instead of getting to them quickly.

some of my videos let me download mp4, but some don’t do they have to be a certain length of time?

Yah, I am looking for the same. It is so confusing how many video tutorials are out there on doing this. I can’t find that download button in my list of videos. It’s like finding a needle in a haystack now. Help!!

That is the way it works. YouTube wants to discourage people from using the site as an archive, so once you download 2 clips, you have to wait an hour before you can download 2 more.
Yea I downloaded 2 and it wont let me anymore. This sucks and is frustrating!!! Grrrrr! I need my videos for a project

Now YouTube added a “Download” button under any video, i can even get yours, lol.
Apparently I can only download 2 every “1 hour”. Thanks for the vid though, would have never figured that out. My videos downloaded to my PC in HD as well, so maybe they changed how that works since you made this.

Thanks for this! For all who are wondering,on your my_videos page, there is a little arrow next to Edit under each of your videos. Click that and the last option is Download Mp4. Still works, i just did it.

Could I download it onto my mac computer then copy it to a DVD to watch on a dvd player or xbox? Will the mp4 format playback on any dvd device? It’s 2013 and the MP4 option is still available next to my own videos, is the quality still bad?
