Apollo 15 astronauts Dave Scott and Al Worden remember fellow crew member Jim Irwin in this 40th anniversary celebration of NASA’s fourth successful manned mission to the moon. The live event was held at the Apollo Saturn V Center inside the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida. Apollo 15 launched from Kennedy on July 26, 1971.

Its perhaps best to celebrate all the Moon landings at this 50th aniverssry of Apollo-11.

This must be one of Neil Armstrong’s last public appearances/speeches.

I want just how they did to pass the Van Allen belts, because Van Allen said at that time (1968 I think) we can’t go through those belts.

I worked at Orroral Valley here in Australia and we used to download data from one of the ALSEP installations on the lunar surface, installed by the Apollo 15 astronauts.
Absolute heroes of my childhood! I drove my toy rover over the moon probably as much as they did in training!
I’ve heard about one of the Apollo missions getting lost or unabled to communicate or something like that on its way to the moon. Did it really happen?
