Expedition 29 Soyuz Commander Anton Shkaplerov, NASA Flight Engineer Dan Burbank and Russian Flight Engineer Anatoly Ivanishin participated in traditional ceremonies at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Star City, Russia on October 31, 2011. Afterward, they departed for the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan to complete training for their launch to the International Space Station in the Soyuz TMA-22 spacecraft on November 14, Baikonur time.

@CarnivalofIllusion I envy you carnivaloflusion,if you think going from 0 to 17500 in 8 minutes and living for 6 months 240 miles above the Planet watching the Continents drift by at 5 miles a second and doing all kinds of science and observering our planet and do all this while floating and doing a eva is boring ! then you must lead a extraordinary life
@CarnivalofIllusion A very fair and valid point and I agree…BUT It has been done by no more then 700 people The elite,the cream of the crop !To call sending 2 or 3 people to a baren rock in space and call it exploration I think devalues the meaning of the word Exploration.Forty years after the Wright brothers flew ordinary men and woman were flying across the Atlantic,Iam just saying lets get interested again in LEO..For all of us !
