Is apple also going to release ultrabooks? kinda like improved Macbook air’s?
Seems pretty incredible, especially for the price.
MBA = backlit. Stupid mistake to make :s
The macbook air is awful. a single USB port??? seriously? Sorry, but I’ve got work to do.
@morrisdev yeah it has 2 USB ports, SD card slot and thunderbolt/displayport for more than a year, you were living under a rock?!
@javipelon17 macbook air is/was the first ultrabook lol
Wow those stickers sure make it go faster.
@storage2k fair enough! looks weird but the thinness and low weight are there 🙂
The macbook air 13 inch is 1299 not 1199 so its 400 more. This model is also only 799 at best buy so thats 500 dollar difference.
@thevillageorge how can you compare with something that costs about 600 dollars more. It costs 799$ at best buy the 13 inch mba is 1299$
What a liar its 500 dollars more. According to laptopmag, this has a longer battery life by a little z835 is 6.8 hours while mba is 6.42. Also it costs 799$. Granted it has a i3 processor and a not so good ssd, but i3 is more than enough for everyday tasks including hd video etc.. Just not games. From what I found the MBA costs 1299 and in case the reviewer doesn’t know math, 1299–799 is a 500 dollar difference. Thats a pretty huge difference
899$ is not the real price at best buy it costs 799$
500$ more is the mba
@kazzemg it’s on sale right now at bestbuy for 699
$400 to $500 difference is a loot of money.… quiet enough to buy one more ultrabook. LOL!!
I’m going back to Cnet. She doesn’t know what she’s talking about. I think they should stick to Mac review since she seems to be a real fan. Like everyone says the price difference is enough to buy two of these. This woman thinks $300 is pocket change, but not everyone is rich and chic like her.
@dhwang101 its more than 300 dollars. It cost 699 at best buy, the mba is 1299. Thats a 600 dollar difference. You could almost buy a second ultrabook. Also you could install linux on the toshiba meaning it would be almost like mac osX
Questions to you Joanna Stern, is there absolutely no flaw in your mac book air ? Is it a perfectly superior piece of technology ? Based on what are you referring to it as a gauge mark to review other windows products ? Nice reviews by the way, but your typical Apple loving American self is a pain to watch. Being a little more neutral and not comparing rotten Apple(s) to oranges would help immensely in your product review.
Remove Joanna, she’s a vigorous MacBook fan.
It sounds like you think they are pure shit. “ACTUALLY”…they are doing well even though they usually engineer ACTUAL shit.
I love the Toshiba I like the spill proof keypad and backlite keyboard and price point but I do like os lion better than windows 7 and going to make the switch to Apple.
just got it..its just great..my friend also got the lenovo ultrabook u300s.
Both are working great;)
Why would it be a lot faster?
so shes a mac.. what a dweeb. lol
the point of reviewers is to say what they like and they dont like. Say what you will but the air does have better battery life and the most important thing that these “ultraportables” should have is battery life. The design on the air is also unparalleled. also ive played with this computer and the keys are very small as she said. Why do people hate good design so much. money is always an issue.
asus is pronounced as “ay-soos” ?? i always thought it was pronounced as “ay-suhs
$300 out of $900 is a huge chunk. It’s not like it’s $5000 where an extra $300 doesn’t make a difference.
no ultrabooks have optical drives, you can always get a usb one tho
you see this Gameboy?…for just $300 more.…you can have the far superior Playstation 3
oh… mactards… they dont know shit.
I really hated that she ended the video by slapping in the MacBook air and how much better it is.
The macbook is useless if you just carry a laptop and a charger because it lacks the amount of usb and the full sized ports. i mean come on apple, at school where I use my Protege z835 a lot the wifi is unstable to say the best so ethernet is a must and when you have to present a project VGA is also needed. So really to get a mac that has the same usability as the Portege z835 you would have to get the 13 inch macbook air ($1300) plus the vga and ethernet adapters ($60) and then risk having them break. Sorry Apple but you need to look outside your little safe garden where the WiFi always works and everything uses mini displayport.
