Marques, hope ya see this… Do they clamp well and do they stay on your head very well? I need a pair of Over Ear for the gym but want quality and not beats or anything similar.
Lil youngster
whats better? this or the m40x? its about the same price
People keep saying it’s looks vs sound. Well, there’s a very large group out there, myself included, who buy for function. I various training and activities and I select my headphones based on that. Like how comfortable are they? How do they handle sweat, do I want people around me to overhear? Portability, bluetooth, sturdiness, tangle free, etc…
I’ve had the SR225i for about 3 years. I absolutely love these headphones (I returned my ATH-M50 because they sounded flat and boring.I know, I know the ATH-M50’s are more accurate). SR225i sound very musical good for most things apart from Hip Hop (my favourite genre) but they are NOT an outdoor headphone, the coil is extremely unmanageable and the open-back design lets sound leak in and out. IMO strictly for indoor use.
how about the SR80e ??
you should do a comparison to something like beats pro or something maybe audio technical ath m50X??
Looking to get my first pair of headphones. These or the audio technica ath es700?
Im kinda a basshead, and i heard that this pair was lacking in low end from people. Can anybody who owns (owned) a pair confirm this?
I had the sr80 before while wathing this vid the 1st time. The song in the end, although edm and not the sr80’s strength, sounds so great. Fast, punchy and energetic sounding, unlike those muddy, confused beats
Hey guys. I am a longboarder and i want some headphones where i can also hear my environment quite good in case there is a car or something behind me. Do you guys think the Grado sr80i are a good choice?
reminds me Koss Porta Pro 🙂
I’m not sure what headphones to get I have around a $120 budget possibly $140-$150 but that’s it and I listen only to heavy metal speed metal and some older power metal. Lots of more obscure never heard of bands. Some more known ones like Helstar first 4 albums and Agent Steel first 2 and Crimson Glory first 2 albums and I’m looking for something good for those types with high pitched notes and lots of mids.
very professional, no ums and ahs, no raving about the box, just a really good review, as always, well done
Would these by good for edm?
Ive owned 2 pairs of Grado SR60s wich sound unbelievable for the price, but unlike what Marques says, the cable plastic is very prone to split and crack at insertions after about a year of use.
The cable on the SR80 is identical to SR60 so keep that in mind.
That wasn’t really a test to see how much sound they leak. If you point the drivers at the microphone of course you’ll be able to hear the music playing.
The cord has to be Y shaped coming from both ears otherwise one of your ear’s would be very lonely.
I know it is old vid but i am curious if u will be able to answer a quick question . I cant make a choice between these and sennheizer hd 558 what would u recommend
Watching this review while plugging in the SR80i
so to showcase soundleak MKB decided to shove the Grado’s speaker first into the mic… LEL
The treble on these are painful. It only works if you’re old & can’t hear over 11 kHz
I have a friend that owns an s80 set. they’ve lasted him nearly 12 years and he has ran thousands of hours through them.
i am wearing these whilst watching this video and i think they are amazing they have very good sounding mids and the bass isn’t too overpowering which is amazing, wouldnt take these on the bus or for school as all of your surrounding people will hear you listening to darude sandstorm. but seriously these are a nice pair of headphones.
Sennheiser hd598 or grado sr80i?
Did this guy ever have acne? His uncle must be Pharrell Williams. Thank You Great Big Story for taking me here
@marques brownlee
Years later, do you still find that what you’ve said in this video to still hold true? Obviously we’ve seen a few new sets come and go and I was curious to see if you still stood by the grados yet
Wearing an older Sr60 2nd hand for only 60CAD and its kept well by prev owner. Although i feel like this headset might be a lil too bright for my liking
That phone tho!
Can anyone tell me the differences between sr80i and sr80e?
Marques looks so young in 2018.
can we get 800 likes?
I love how you compare them to Beats in the thumbnail
literally anything is better than Beats
Better than sony??
Lol look at you!!! So young! Still watching you to this day. Had to come back and rewatch this review since I love my grado’s is so much
The comments from Overwerk’s Buzzin song posted by someone else brought me here… aynone?
Still relevant
Grado sound is fantastic, but the comfort is questionable at best. I honestly recommend everyone to check nyczaj audio mods for Grado, as their earpads and aluminum gimbals transformed my SR325e into kings of comfort, before I couldn’t use them for more than an hour at time because my ears would get super sore from the stock pads.
