Do you need a data con­nec­tion all the time? “Cloud based mobile plat­form ” scares me if every­thing is Inter­net data driven.

I don’t get why peo­ple don’t see the poten­tial of this. The poten­tial is huge because of low devel­op­ment and deploy­ment costs. Yes, Chrome OS is sim­i­lar but not for mobile phones or tablets. Real­ly amaz­ing stuff can be build with HTML5, CSS3, a relat­ed tech­nolo­gies. Expos­ing cur­rent­ly native only APIs will push this even more. For lots of cur­rent native apps there’s no ben­e­fit going com­plete­ly native and hav­ing to main­tain mul­ti­ple plat­form while a long used wide spread plat­form- the web- exists

Well designed web apps could per­fect­ly work offline, only an ini­tial down­load is nec­es­sary, equiv­a­lent to down­load­ing from an app­store… Cur­rent­ly their are only few apps that make use of offline stor­age and caching. I see great poten­tial, but good or bet­ter tech­nol­o­gy does­n’t always win…

I don’t com­plete­ly under­stand what you mean but ‘apps’ imho aren’t nec­es­sar­i­ly defined by the tech­nol­o­gy their build in but more with the func­tion­al­i­ty it gives to the user. Expos­ing native APIs to be used from web tech­nolo­gies will push the capa­bil­i­ties of these apps even fur­ther while still hav­ing the advan­tages of web technology.

Its got a lot of poten­tial and it looks very cool, in fact very cus­tomiza­tion and html is not hard to build. But im afraid like @invisiman2006 said that it depends to much on the phone been con­nect­ed to the inter­net, but i guess by the time that the phone comes out and a in a near future con­nect­ing to the inter­net any­where wont be a problem.
