Do you need a data connection all the time? “Cloud based mobile platform ” scares me if everything is Internet data driven.
@InvisiMan2006 a good question!
@InvisiMan2006 I’ll quote GSMArena for this:
“And don’t worry – even though the OS itself is cloud-based, you might still use your phone offline and even run apps and games on it – offline caching is a technology already supported by the web standards.”
@BeautyHunter1986 It runs on pre-existing phones so?
Too many OSes already…(>__<)
Cloud based? Ever heard of chrome os? Hehehe id say epic fail for this one
I don’t get why people don’t see the potential of this. The potential is huge because of low development and deployment costs. Yes, Chrome OS is similar but not for mobile phones or tablets. Really amazing stuff can be build with HTML5, CSS3, a related technologies. Exposing currently native only APIs will push this even more. For lots of current native apps there’s no benefit going completely native and having to maintain multiple platform while a long used wide spread platform- the web- exists
Very interesting!
Well designed web apps could perfectly work offline, only an initial download is necessary, equivalent to downloading from an appstore… Currently their are only few apps that make use of offline storage and caching. I see great potential, but good or better technology doesn’t always win…
Consider it more of a proof of concept getting more serious. That button is obviously only for development purposes.
I don’t completely understand what you mean but ‘apps’ imho aren’t necessarily defined by the technology their build in but more with the functionality it gives to the user. Exposing native APIs to be used from web technologies will push the capabilities of these apps even further while still having the advantages of web technology.
very cool

Its got a lot of potential and it looks very cool, in fact very customization and html is not hard to build. But im afraid like @invisiman2006 said that it depends to much on the phone been connected to the internet, but i guess by the time that the phone comes out and a in a near future connecting to the internet anywhere wont be a problem.
internet connection are not required to open apps or everything inside the phone, all of them are saved, a lot like downloading flash game and run it in your browser no connection required
