the problem is that 1080p pretty much maxed out the human eye resolution especially at a sub-60 inch screen.
That’s not at all true. The iPad, which is a higher resolution than a 1080p television, is barley “human eye” or “retina” quality and it’s only a 9.7″ screen. The size and distance you view a TV from makes a huge deal. 4K and even 6K and 8K TVs and Projectors will have a visible improvement from modern 1080P Televisions
Where the heck did you hear that? That would only be true if your a fair distance away from the screen. Even conservative estimates put the human eyes equivalent resolution at 2.5k in a limited FOV.
I’m just waiting for uhdtv’s that’s smaller than 50 inches maybe 42 inches would great! And by then cable and satellite providers will be broadcasting actual TV shows in 8k or whatever.
4k camera $13000
4k screen $10000
Watching 4k recorded video, on a 4k screen, on a 480p youtube video.…priceless.
because 1080p is too mainstream
I can’t wait for 4k pr0nz!
2019, 8k is the next big thing
