not a dropbox killer
i am the 2:nd to comment this 🙂
I have loved Dropbox for some time. SkyDrive’s announcements yesterday were VERY intriguing, and now THIS.
Finally, some real competition.
what’s the vergenizer? 🙂 @2:35
So, why is drive better than SkyDrive?
Been using Dropbox for about 2 years now. Probably the most seamless experience I had. Skydrive was pretty bad. Had to sync with Mesh when the online interface was clunky. Same with the phone interface. Just really disconnected. The update yesterday, made me switch over. The storage capacity is by far greater than dropbox and gdrive and the pricing is very compelling as well. I’ll need to try out gdrive to get a better sense of it but it doesn’t really look too compelling except for the search.
@veeralprod bcz skydri
More space (if you had a skydrive account before), tighter integration with MS Office, Office Web Apps, the ability to open natively, etc.
Shoulda been out 2 years ago, but I’ll still use it
yet
Only 5GB?
google’s answer to dropbox and icloud???? Skydrive anyone???.. BS!!!
I’ve 25Go for free on my Skydrive account. Just sayin’. 🙂 Looks nice though.
@vinh291 Plus 25 GB from skydrive
You guys should do a Drobox VS. Google Drive article.
not in australia i just tried to access this country is a piece of shit
@fuckyoudestroyer blame Google, it’s their decision to exclude Australia… but if you have a US VPN… once it’s setup it just works without tunnelling 🙂
Thanks for this short and thorough review.
I think I prefer SkyDrive. Nothing special about Drive besides integration with Google services
apple product placement, macbook air to be specific
it’s World of Warcraft in disguise
skydrive is better! 25 GB vs 7. Hum. Have you read Google Drive’s terms? They OWN your stuff. They can sell, distribute & mine the data. That’s why I left Google services.
I am selective about what I share with google. If it’s something that indicates my distrust of their practices — than I’m happy to share with them!
Next time, take a little longer to made a video and have better quality.
I love Verge videos but I want them to have quality!
Game of thrones!
Skydrive FTW, especially if you got 25GB for free.
I never thought before, Microsoft become a goodly Company
I love Google sooooo muuuuch
I do like the new Drive. But.…… I dont like that fact you cannot create new folders with in your mobile device through the native Drive App. You must do it though the browser on you computer (or possibly through the browser on you mobile device. But i havent tried that yet.
Uploading takes forever tho.
need to show off that Air!
lol incognito tab! We caught you!
You don’t use Google Music I’m assuming.
I wish SkyDrive had search like Google Drive — it can’t search in files, and it can’t recognise images, both of which Google Drive can do. I still use SkyDrive, though, because I’ve got 25GB of storage for free and it works great with Office and Outlook.com.
drive needs .docx support. Documents are in a proprietary format called Google Documents. It would be really nice if full support with MS Office is offered.
