Moments after bidding farewell to the Expedition 31 crew onboard the International Space Station, Expedition 30 Commander Dan Burbank of NASA, Russian Soyuz Commander Anton Shkaplerov and Flight Engineer Anatoly Ivanishin closed the hatch on their Soyuz TMA-22 spacecraft in preparation for their return trip to Earth. Have a safe trip home, and many thanks for sharing all those interesting moments with us.
Aww. They clearly got on well together! Love this 🙂
Aww, farewell!
looking at 1:36 and again at 1:49 is that a Fly in the ISS . if so then good by sterile habitat !
really wonderfull
Yes ‚indeed
That wouldn’t be a fly, probably just a peice of dirt or something .
Well done guys!!! 🙂
Iff you had a heat shield layer in your space suit you could just jump out and parachute down
Yes but you need to retro fire against the orbit direction, which requires a lot of energy and precise calculation. You can’t just jump and expect to fall down, you need to de-orbit to get out of the orbit and enter the earth’s atmosphere at a precise angle.
There is no garment out there that can withstand that amount of heat generated through re-entry. And you need to be facing in a direction that will not cause tumbling and fatal oscillations.
