A few hours after dock­ing their Soyuz space­craft with the Inter­na­tion­al Space Sta­tion, Gen­nady Padal­ka, Joe Aca­ba and Sergei Revin opened hatch­es and were greet­ed by three crew mem­bers who have been on the out­post since Decem­ber; sta­tion Com­man­der Oleg Kononenko, NASA Flight Engi­neer Don Pet­tit and Euro­pean Space Agency Flight Engi­neer Andre Kuipers. The new arrivals also received con­grat­u­la­to­ry calls and best wish­es from Amer­i­can and Russ­ian space offi­cials and their fam­i­lies gath­ered at the Russ­ian Mis­sion Con­trol Cen­ter in Korolev, Rus­sia, out­side Moscow.
