me too!
7 peoples dont have a kindle paperwhite
I think the bacground is the same with the old one, they call it paperwhite referring to the effect of LED light!
I would return it and get this one. I have the old Kindle keyboard and Kindle Fire but will never use the old keyboard after seeing the better, new and improved reading with this. It looks more like a real book and the resolution is much improved.…. It’s mine, getting one for sure when it’s released for us Oct. 1… absolutely.
Thanks. I’m only concerned about cleaning fingerprints off the screen 24/7. But maybe I’ll splurge and have both.
$119 for Fifty Shades of White?
Tell me how fast you can read “no thanks.”
can you refer to the part in the video where you saw it?
I couldn’t find it.
Isn’t it supposed to be new technology that won’t strain your eyes like regular screens do?
haha
well, it’s good for people that like to read. for others, probably no
I think he means 1:10. Looks odd.
i just bought the normal kindle.…fml
You can turn it off if yo do not like it.
Well, Kindle Keyboard does have page turn buttons, which is convenient. I’ve heard a lot of people with newer Kindles complain about having to specifically go out of their way to swish the screen to get it to turn, which is a somewhat trivial complaint, sure, but it’s still annoying to half to do it a lot. Page turn buttons was one way in which we improved on the book, kind of annoying to half to go back because we’re futilely trying to imitate the inconveniences of the past.
They need to work more on the processor. It’s too slow!
You don’t get it do you? The light is above the display, shining _down_ on it. Like light from the environment.
Don’t worry about fingerprints. It’s not like a tablet pc, you won’t see normal prints unless you hold the screen in a very certain angle to a light source, maybe not even then.
Can you explain to me how light coming from the front of the screen suddenly turns 180° and goes right into your eyes without the help of a reflecting surface?
Why do people complain about swiping? You don’t have to swipe to turn pages. You can just tap.
It wouldn’t reflect anymore than a lamp shining at the screen ‑_-
The Kobo Glo has 5 LEDs at the bottom…
Shut up and take my money
@pexeq its like reading a book with a lamp on… except only the screen is lit up.
more like a fucking kindle paper weight
Sometimes we flip back and forth several pages to find out something we missed. If it does not lag, it “feels” better 🙂
you can also turn the light off unlike an ipad
you’ve never flipped through pages in a book? sometimes i want to go a few pages back or forward on my kindle. i’m not a fan of the “go to location” system, so i might quickly flip a few pages back. the kindle paperwhite is noticeably quicker than the kindle touch in this regard.
Agreed.
The Paperwhite only has one button for sleep/awake. Everything else is controlled on the screen. But I heard, the screen isn’t as responsive as what you’re probably used to on smartphones and tablets. Is that true?
don’t buy it if you don’t wanna, and shut up lol.
I think they mean paperweight
does anybody know if kindle shows two word definitions like air force or happy hour by touching both words
I had the Kindle Touch and upgraded to the Paperwhite. In my opinion the Kindle Touch, though awesome, was a little oversensitive and laggy, but the Paperwhite is a lot more responsive. It’s not quite as fast as a smartphone but pretty darn close. Very easy to navigate.

I love the Paperwhite Kindle. Great to read in direct daylight with no glare. It’s good in the dark too. Two thumbs up.
Can it screen record and send out files?
