Does it have microSD slot?
beacause of the amazon content its better than the nexus 7
Thats got to be Myriam Joire from Engadget in the background at 0:05
I just died inside 🙁 I just got a kindle fire
It needs to go on a bezel diet…
The Nexus 7 can have Amazon content through (official) Amazon Android apps, but Google apps and content is unavailable to Kindles.
Welcome to the world of 7‑inch tablets.
in other words .… not much to talk about
You sound proud of the idea of having such a locked-down device, to only have only access to content Amazon hosts, it’s unacceptable and NOT better for anyone.
And yes, I’m aware of Cyanogenmod and other open OS’s available for Kindle, that’s beside the point and not how I was arguing against this gentlemen.
Yeah, they stated the wrong resolution in the first video
So you can cover the screen with your thumbs? Yah right.
Once you go 7 lol
short review
Next time do your homework Verge.. COMES WITH A LOT OF STUFF?? WTF?
Ad supported garbage. You have to be crazy to buy this over any other tablet. Amazon can keep their ads.
There are plenty of other tablets with thinner bezels…
The N7 is so much better, what is that restrictive amazon skin wow.
like which?
is it true? how?
@luqmanr not like this. these ads are invasive from the very moment you turn on the device. they are on the lock screen full sized and smaller on the home screen. It’s awful.
The Google Nexus 7 is just one that has a sleeker bezel on the sides…
Would it be able to accommodate CBZ file formats for reading?
Not officially. You’d have to download something like ACR via root for comic book reading. But you might as well get a N7 then.
The I believe why this will do well is because its a one stop shop. Yep the nexus 7 is a great tablet and it also has a massive apps market. But it does not have it in a one stop package and what ever country the fire ends up in full content will follow. It gets on my nerves in the uk that I have to have one app for music because Google play Uk doesn’t have one. Movies on play are a bit woeful and as of yet no TV or magazine’s so the list goes on in the uk off what I don’t have.
if you dont like ads or amazon ui just flash other rom, there are always a lot of roms for kindle and ther will be and for this
I wonder if you can change your password without having to reboot the whole thing.
right but not hundreds of thousands of movies, music and tv shows plus unlimited cloud storage. you simply can’t compare play store and amazon app store.
@TheMichaelRN correct me if I am wrong but doesn’t Amazon have more movies and TV shows and more books and more magazines compared to the Google play store. The only thing that Google play kicks its butt with in terms of content is apps I believe
There are ways around that with the right software.…
Yes, this is true, but apps mean productivity.
Yes I agree with you in part but if you are buying a kindle fire you are buying on just to consume and nothing else
@buaayzf really thats right people have everything on there computer if your not backing up you can loose it all. ive found the best way is to use a service which keeps every file backed up automatically hit this up in your browser bit.ly/SvlUKF?=muhhwys
