Quality isn’t that good nor bad, the sound quality is good though-ish.
Considering this is a 13 megapixel sensor this video is very mediocre. The Sony Xperia T doesnt really offer anything new from their earlier 2012 models except a larger screen.
Higher megapixels does not mean better quality. Sometimes the company uses it for ‘gimicky’ purposes since its a so called their ‘higher end’ devices. I have seen Sony produces better quality videos on 5 meg camera on the Xperia Go.
You are right that HIgher megapixels does not ALWAYS mean better quality. It does of course depend on the sensor as well. However a good sensor and a higher megapixel count usually indicates better quality. In this case the quality is none too impressive for a high end smartphone in late 2012. I have not seen the video quality on the Xperia Go so I cant comment on that but I have seen the video on the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 and it was at least as good as this if not better and thats a five meg cam
I just want to add that I want Sony to do well. I have no beef with them. I am into my camera quality on a mobile phone so I had higher hopes for this camera. Its not terrible but its not great. As they make cameras as a company they can do better than this.
I got your point. But at the same time I believe its some sort of like “you gain some and lose some”. In my opinion, this is of good quality if you plus the sounds that comes out of the video. I have seen footage of videos from Samsung high end phones that has good quality videos but in terms of sound capture, it just seems to distort at certain points. At the end of the day, its all down to the consumer preference.
“As they make cameras as a company they can do better than this.”
…and THATS exactly why they don’t “overpower” the cameras in mobile phones.
they still want to sell stuff and if the mobile phones give you the same quality as the full grown digital cameras from sony, they would kind of mess with their own business!
