Astro­naut Kevin Ford of NASA, and cos­mo­nauts Evge­ny Tarelkin and Oleg Novit­skiy of the Russ­ian Fed­er­al Space Agency (Roscos­mos) con­duct train­ing in advance of their upcom­ing mis­sion aboard The Inter­na­tion­al Space Sta­tion. The tri­o’s pres­ence will restore the sta­tion to a six-per­son crew fol­low­ing a mid-Octo­ber launch and dock­ing to the Inter­na­tion­al Space Sta­tion, ini­ti­at­ing Expe­di­tion 33. The crew will con­duct joint research and oper­a­tions aboard the sta­tion with NASA Astro­naut Suni Williams, Cos­mo­naut Yuri Malenchenko and Japan Aero­space Explo­ration Agency astro­naut Aki Hoshide. When Williams, Malenchenko and Hoshide depart, Ford will assume com­mand of Expe­di­tion 34.
