Wheaton Steps Up for NASA Spinoffs
NASA Spinoff Wheaton
Wil Wheaton, the actor who played Wesley Crusher on “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” is host of a new public service announcement about how much of the technology we rely on daily was developed by NASA for space exploration and then adapted or enhanced for use here on Earth.
Similar PSAs are hosted by William Shatner and June Lockhart, both of whom also portrayed space explorers on TV and the silver screen. Wheaton, who also has a large social media following, explains how many of these technologies have found their way into our schools, homes, cars, computers and American industry.

NASA should be pushing harder to show what its benefits are, more than just the spinoffs and some job creation. They should be shouting to the hilltops like Neil DeGrasse Tyson and get people to listen by telling them that the future economy is in space and we need NASA to pioneer it because no one else can.
Sad as it is, more people recognize Wil Wheaton as a space explorer than recognize NDT as a top scientist.

But it gets a little frustrating when arguing the benifits of it and all you can think of is …VELCRO.
Osteoporosis is another good one
Shut up Wesley!
thinking about it, truly nasa’s contributions are immense. Even if U.S goes broke soon with the high debt, and countless wars, hope nasa keeps its door open.
You can, they are always looking for talented people in all fields. Just study in a field you enjoy and keep applying when you graduate. There’s nothing better than doing what you like for a living.
