Yet this gen­er­a­tion of con­soles basi­cal­ly have PC innards. You could the­o­ret­i­cal­ly put in faster inter­nals while main­tain­ing com­pat­i­bil­i­ty. Just like the way PCs work right now. So updat­ing the SoC in 2 years while main­tain­ing the same plat­form is quite fea­si­ble in this new generation.

Yeah man. Games is the least I expect from a con­sole these days. Would be like releas­ing a phone say­ing ‘it makes great calls’. Yeah no shot… But else can it do.

I admire Sony stick­ing with what it knows but I think Xbox will win again this gen. Sony is sell­ing off assets left and right and the last thing it needs to do is go niche. They might get more gamers to buy it… But there’s way more non gamers and casu­als out there that Xbox will appeal to

If they could be self-upgrad­ed, yes. But Microsoft and Sony aren’t going to allow that. That means spend­ing hun­dreds of £/$/€ every 2 years for some­thing only mar­gin­al­ly bet­ter. I under­stand that that’s exact­ly the same as phones, but the mobile mar­ket devel­ops much faster.

Releas­ing an updat­ed con­sole 2 years from now, with slight­ly improved hard­ware as ye said in the video, defeats the pur­pose of buy­ing a con­sole — If you want to have to update to the newest spec every now and again, you’d game on a PC

its good that they are both going to be PCs in a pret­ty box but we are in a sit­u­a­tion where intel have just released their haswell proces­sors and nvidia have released their 700 series graph­ics cards and by the time the xbox and ps4 come out, nvidia will be 6 months from releas­ing their maxwell gpu archi­tec­ture which will shit all over any­thing that has come before, mean­ing that the con­soles will be old just as they are new, con­soles must become upgrad­able, processor/gpu wise, to compete.

These guys, espe­cial­ly the host are so priv­i­leged mid­dle class with their heads up their ars­es. You can tell they where social­ly awk­ward all the way into their ear­ly 20s until they devel­oped this obnox­ious atti­tude to mask their lack of iden­ti­ty and belong­ing. They even adopt­ed an obses­sion with tech’ but more impor­tant­ly con­sumerism to fill the void where their life pur­pose should have been developed.

The answer is I am at a lev­el of philo­soph­i­cal under­stand­ing that makes me pleased with myself while dis­pleased with soci­ety and I will not be ful­filled until I have a pos­i­tive impact on the under­stand­ing of oth­ers. You are right to crit­i­cise the mal­ice of my com­ment, it was not well thought out.
