The West Bank has virtually no medical infrastructure for treating mental illness. That’s a tragedy — and an opportunity. Here’s how a group of idealistic Palestinians brought neuroscience to their people.

(Im israeli)
What the hell does the verge cast have to do with politics . This is political propaganda. I am deleting my subscription to this YouTube channel . Politics and computers don’t mix. You suck!!!
Great quality content and video. Well done the verge.
I bet Josh met him at TED… Lucky bastard.
Go ahead bro … Yes for Palestine’s researcher .. Palestinian and proud
PEACE!
Wow Verge. Nice documentary.
Why does this video has to have a political debate, when TheVerge made this video to show how the research technology happen in Palestine.
I love these type of videos fr the verge
Because the underlying reasons for this precarious situation are obviously related with politics and the war.
Thanks to all for your positive and supportive comments. If anyone wishes to make a US tax deductible contribution to the Palestinian Neuroscience Initiative, they can do so online by visiting our web site at alquds /daht/ rutgers /daht/ edu

the verge is awesome
this video wasn’t about politics. smh.
Thanks for sharing this.
Love this
This is why I love the Verge!
This video title is incorrect
Get rid of religion. Problem solved!
Gee whiz if this wasn’t politics then let’s do a video on depression in the native Indian population in the USA or how’s about one on the Afro American population in Quuens N.Y. Gee you Americans and wantabe Americans can be so hypocritical! Why don’t you do a video on why its important to support the Muslim brotherhood in Egypt. How silly can you get????
You guys always come up with something new. And your videos have the best picture quality. Love it.
Superb footage and editing. Amazing work.
Great work by NIH Brain Disorders grantees from Rutgers University and Al-Quds University
Religion is actually what keeps people from jumping off a cliff.
Where is this “palestine” ?! Show me a history book that supports their claims ! Bloody liars.
I feel this video is more about building higher education institutions than it is treating depression.
How exactly was it one sided? From what I saw it contained absolutely no political content whatsoever.
To be fair, without research facilities and an institutional infrastructure, there really isn’t any “treating people”. Clinics don’t just pop up from the ground out of nowhere.
How is this one sided? The video is about Palestinians and mental illnesses and the health care problem. The major problem they have NOT addressed is that Israel is culpable for such problems. That is one side FOR Israel.
I love the Verge even more now.
I suck? Why do I suck?!?!
This neuroscience project will likely fall down the drain sooner or later. Palestinians, like the rest of their Arab counterparts, are stuck with corruption, poverty, and political issues. Any funding that goes to that initiative will likely end up in their politicians’ hands rather than in whatever else they try to achieve.
Also, Al Quds is a university that combines religion and science together in order to teach. Such a university has NO CHANCE to succeed in the real world
Great video.
I bleaker now
Always impressive cinematography O:)
Good luck with the endeavor. I am not sure if the Palestinian society is ready for such though. I opened an American Heart Association CPR training center due to the fact that simple CPR is a relative unknown procedure there. The sad thing is that people do not care to know or even learn simple ways to improve society, why would they accept such advanced ideas. The Palestinians as a society are many, many years behind most every nation concerning just basic health care.
Cool. I didn’t know this was from The Verge until I had read one of the comments. It looked Vice‑y.
Research, research, & research ~ Look how these amazing guys fighting (with lack of resources) in their field! BIG LIKE!
A couple of mounth ago there was explosion in palestine.…. One palestinian was trying to make the “Kassam”, unguided rocket, when his family was just behing wall.… the family was threated in Soroka hospital in Beer-Sheva, Israel.…. free of charge.… Now, if i have emergency and spand more then 3 days in hispital its apriximatly 700 USD fee per day.… Yes, Israel is genocidal agressor that drives progressive palestinia society to the deppression. And no, the problem is not the fact that many palestinian men have multiple wifes and dozens of children and dispize education, its greedy jews.
Amazing
