first also wow
Please nasa, give us color definitions, please!? We are in 2013 after all.
Spaciba
You don’t have to ask it for NASA ‚but for Obama…
THEY HAVE LANDED!
Ive notice they are using different symbols for the language, how ever you say it
It’s a collaboration of different countries, no one is really in charge of the ISS. Russians have a huge part because they are right now the only form of transportation to and from the station.
This is a camera built into the side of the Soyuz. There are no plans to upgrade it by the Russians, nor is there any need for an upgrade.
Beautiful! I wish it was in colour though..
Welcome home
no, it is a joint project between the US, Russia, Canada and the European apace agency. no one nation or organization is “in charge” of building, resupplying or maintenance on the space station.
one, the russians own that spacecraft not NASA. and two, the black and white image increases contrast so it is easier to dock the spacecraft to the iss. it is black and white for saftey reasons and there is no reason to change it to color.
When dis they get into their space suits? And how did they manage it in this tight space?
Do you know what the I in ISS stands for?
The I in ISS stands for International, but the truth is it is only represents the interests of Europe, The United States, Russia and Japan. The rest of the world do not have the resources to train and send astronauts to the ISS; like South Africa, Australia, Egypt, Arabia, India and China. I do love the shots of the ATV’s and HTV (no relations to MTV) on their way to and from the space station. In the near future what will replace the ISS, and will it have its own gravity?
But ‘international’ means: “between or among nations; involving two or more nations”.
By that definition if France and Belgium operated the ISS, then it would still be international.
what are you talking about? It’s a combined effort between NASA, Roscomos, JAXA, ESA, CSA
excelente!
International Space Station
The complexity of space engineering and flight boggles my mind. Rocket science is no small task and these guys have mastered it to an impressive degree.
Maybe my definition encompasses more of humanity than just the strict narrow definition of International; like global. One small step for a man; one giant leap for “mankind”. It does seem to be more European Orientated; with a touch of Japanese. So if it just Europe and America; why should the rest of the world care?
Also, the Chinese do train and send astronauts to space.
How many astronauts that is trained by the Chinese that are sent to the ISS? How many astronauts from Latin America, Asia, and the Caribbean go to the ISS. There are a lot of Europeans, Russians, and Japanese that get trained and sent to the ISS. Although, lately there are more male crews than there are female crews, and there are less Black, Native, Asian and Women going to the ISS.
