Expe­di­tion 37/38 Soyuz Com­man­der Oleg Kotov and Flight Engi­neer Sergey Ryazan­skiy of the Russ­ian Fed­er­al Space Agency (Roscos­mos) and NASA Flight Engi­neer Michael Hop­kins launched on the Russ­ian Soyuz TMA-10M space­craft on Sept. 26, Kaza­kh time (Sept. 25, U.S. time) from the Baikonur Cos­mod­rome in Kaza­khstan to begin a six-hour jour­ney to the Inter­na­tion­al Space Sta­tion. Once aboard, the trio will start a five-and-a-half-month mis­sion, join­ing sta­tion Com­man­der Fyo­dor Yurchikhin of Roscos­mos, NASA Flight Engi­neer Karen Nyberg and Flight Engi­neer Luca Par­mi­tano of the Euro­pean Space Agency, who have been on the sta­tion since late May.
