That doesn’t look like the HD I have one and it has a metal band with kindle imprinted onto it and the HD does have a front camera hell I own one and loaded cm10.2 onto it

I have 2012’s Kindle Fire HD. Is there going to be another update to it? Mine is currently on v7.4.6. Can someone answer?
While I liked this video, often I felt the looked for differences in text and video appearance just weren’t there. Only one: contrast. That’s good to have more of, but not decisive by itself. But for resolution, the extra pixels aren’t helping because: HD movies are not in HDX resolution to begin with! HD movies are only in 1080p resolution. Ergo, the extra pixels of the HDX won’t help in HD movies at all, and if you look carefully you’ll see: there’s no apparent difference in resolution.
So it you only want reading and movies, you’ll be paying extra for that extra contrast, if you want it, on the HDX, that’s all.
It’s in action games the HDX can really outperform I’d guess.

I watched this on my kindle fire HD
what i want to know is if the screen reader really works with kindle books… amazon is a bit wierd about that.. later kindle models (the ebook readers) lack text-to-speech… at the same time they baught up a text-to-speech company…
im frankly confused where they are going… aparantly some authors and writers guild of america are a bit anal about text-to-speech.. .and they might worry its competing with their audible books.. but i think that idiocy..
I buy as many audile books as i can get credits for them i listen to tons of kindle books without any audio version the rest of the time.…
so if anyones tried it out and can verify that it does work i would be a lot happier

Uhh I think your Kindle Fire is we tah ted, mine has a camera in the front.
I like watching videos on mine. The quality is very clear and the speakers are great.

The HDX’s screen looks so yellow at times that it looks like someone pissed on it. Combine that with the blue borders on white pages and I think it’s pretty clear that it’s just a defective screen. Amazon decided to conduct an experiment of using blue LEDs for the back lighting on the HDX 7 to increase battery life and cut costs. They failed.

my kindle fire hd does have the dual speakers and the camera the ui has been very fast and I’m able to stream.content without buffering while the screen is not ideal nothing that made me need to buy the hdx
My old HDx 7 3rt gen is slowing down these days, has gotten a lot of use, but these days it crashes sometimes, or cuts off youtube videos mid watch. I can’t afford the price of the HDx this time round, so trying to look into how good the regular HD is. This video helped a lot, thanks!
