ORS 3 Mission Launches from Wallops
NASA,Wallops,ORS‑3,Minotaur,CubeSat
A Minotaur I rocket launched Nov. 19 from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility on the U. S. Air Force’s Operationally Responsive Space Office’s ORS‑3 mission. The ORS‑3 Mission, also known as an enabler mission, will demonstrate and validate launch and range improvements for NASA and the military. Aside from the primary payload — the Space Test Program Satellite‑3 (STPSat‑3), ORS‑3 transported about 28 small cubesat satellites to space. Among the cubesats were NASA’s PhoneSat2 and the first cubesat built by high school students.

Wow, can you say “We are outta here?
0–60 in .235 seconds i need that in my car
So cool, the first rocket launch i have ever seen!
Caught a glimpse of it by sheer chance just around 8:30 tonight right over Piney Flats, Tennessee.
amazingly fast launch…
God damn that was loud and quick. Just watched the MAVEN launch yesterday and that didn’t look like it was going to get off the pad, this fucking exploded off. Damn that’s cool. I want to see a launch in person.
that little bastard got out of there quick, fast, and in a hurry.
id love to see the g readings from that one..
Молодцы, слава США !!
That thing went off like a rocket! ;¬)
Wow that’s what I call a LAUNCH..!
Im from Reading,Pa about 150 miles from Wallops with such a clear sky the launch looked just as clear as the laddee launch I watched it all the way untill it flew out of sight down range.congrats to the team at Wallops!!!!
Did anyone notice the shock waves as the rocket lifted off?
I could have watched this in person an missed it dn it!!!!
holy shit that was impressive
Man that accelerated quickly
Was this thing going so fast that it was ram heating? I question the efficiency of going so fast in the atmosphere, but I’m not a rocket scientist.
There should be at least one rocket launch per day. The moment of ignition was really SPECTACULAR. During daylight we don’t have the opportunity to see all those flames erupting from the engine. I prefer the daytime launches if on-board cameras are used filming the ascent, making us feel like an astronaut.
Hahaha holy shit! That’s a liftoff. Is it only liquid fuel or does it have any SRBs?
That thing sure has a kick! 1600 mph in 60s wow 0.0
Crank those sub speakers up if you have one! Great experience!
Is that minotaur V, or another generation?
Oh, well it’s written ’ minotaur I’ … ;p
heard some HS students built this rocket
haha crazyyy
Was it a launch or a shot!? Gosh!
We watched this on NASA’s website last night and we are in North Carolina and we looked towards Virginia and could actually see the flames of the rocket in the sky, could just barely see. It was freaking awesome.
could see it in Massachusetts in the south sky
Never seen a rocket get off the pad that w
Never seen a rocket get off the pad that quick. Gotta love them solids — sorry for the double post.
Orbital rockets are always so exciting at liftoff, they definetly did not dissapoint here
That was the fastest launch I have ever seen
Hello, i am a freshman in high school. One day I would like to be an astronaut, however most launches recently have been with the Russians. Should I learn Russian, and would it better my chances of becoming an astronaut?
those solid rocket motors really get off the ground fast and go like hell
How about those shock waves at about 22 seconds? Awesome.
There you go Nexus S, into the Galaxy!
Watching this from the launch site was awesome. Video will never do it justice.
Was the yellow part is actually protective blanket to protect from the element?
Solid rockets get out of there in a hurry.
peely banana
0:17 Liftoff
Fast boiiiiiiiii
