Somehow I’ve been able to ignore Kanye just fine. Maybe better music has kept me busy listening.
why are you always talking over each other? it makes the conversation so confusing and annoying.
kanye is trash, an infection, cancer of the world, a disease. He’s nothing, I was reading your list and when he appeared, I closed the tab. And that’s why this video gets a thumbs down.
you can manually update apps btw just go to settings and changing the auto update
One at a time guys
As a fellow Minnesotan I give Dieter huge props for immediately calling out Garbage Paul Bunyan.
Skol.
I’m in Twitter’s alpha test thing and I have a new tab, “Photos & Videos”.
Oh man, all that discuss about the twitter app really make me laugh so hard!
Is it just me or is there someone playing Mahjong back there.
By the way, I don’t understand the need of having all these macs on the table. If they need to search for something can’t they just use their phones?
This Is the second Verge Cast that had me cracking up, these dudes are a good team of funny. Channels like these are why Tv is totally irrelevant to me.
I think the guys have the right to use whatever devices they want, however the fact they all use macs does point to a certain shared view of technology. I like macs as nice hardware, but I wouldn’t buy one because I think they are overpriced and I don’t particularly like the look.
Look at all those macbooks lined up. Gross.
“Great point, can you turn my earpiece down a little bit, someone in the control room?” This kinda stuff is why I love you Josh.
The car was an AMC Pacer.
I groan every time I see Paul Miller is on an episode
to be fair to nilay, he accurately predicted the demise of google tv few yrs ago
The best thing about The Verge 50 is that the design doesn’t look like absolute fucking garbage.
All I hear is typically bitching about Android/ Google and the usual orgasmic response that the verge staff has to Apple products.
I want a The Verge sticker… How can i get one for my mac?
When Steve Jobs said he was going to go Thermo Nuclear War on Google it was at a time in his life he knew he was dying. People say things that they would not normally say when they know their time on Earth is about to expire. So I take his comment with a grain of salt.
Is Dieter German from Minnesota?
Dieter Bohn is a great addition. Keep him!
I get that same phone call !!!! But for someone else !!!!!
Good episode guys…!
Poor Dieter getting talked over.
This is the best vergecast team!
Did Nilay Patel just imply that people with low end Android are dumb (18:43)? Not cool man. Not cool at all.
Nilay Patel makes this series nearly unwatchable.
Man I miss Josh.
Somehow I found myself here and my god the nostalgia
simpler times..
God, this really used to be such a mess of everyone talking over each other.
I want video podcasts back… I also want Joshua, Paul, Joanna on it. Can we get a Verge alumni meet?
Me:
YouTube: “here’s a Verge cast episode that I’ve been hiding from you”
The YouTube algorithm is delivering the goods rn. So keen to go back and re-live all these long tech lost controversies!
i forgot how much i miss Josh
Haha got to love the YT Algorithm. Surfacing the good stuff. Miss the old days guys! Rock N roll, Paul.
Watching from 2023 here! Still good
Paul
I love re watching these old vergecasts- very nostalgic! This is when Tech was exciting, now it all seems so vanilla.
The dream team
Man this episode is a trip. People still thought Musk was some sort of Tony Stark figure instead of just an moronic billionaire buffoon. Kanye, well, we know what happened to him. Notch became radicalized and lives alone in a mansion.
Also the talk about how Spotify has stalled. Being from the future rules.
Oof Elon
Woooooow Dieter !!! Hahahah i miss Josh as well my gosh
