The Verge at Work is a series about process. We’re not scientists, and we’re not gurus, we’re just trying to get some work done. The solutions presented here are highly personal, and highly personalized. Not the only way, but our way.
Cameras in the iPhone have progressed considerably over the years, but so have the apps you can use to process your photos. Getting the shot just right requires a good starting image — one that’s well exposed and sharp. After that, you can play with various HDR processes and move on to filters that add personality and texture to an image. Add a little sharpening, adjust the color temperature, tweak the contrast, and you’ve got an image that stands out from a run-of-the-mill mobile photo. More from The Verge:

anyone know the title of the beginning track?
You complaining Android fanboys are worse than Jehova’s witnesses. The basics of photography apply to any fucking device with a camera that has apps to process them. But sure it’s cool to hate Apple these days.
The verges editing team is ridiclously talented!
HOW MANY PHONES WERE BROKEN IN THE MAKING OF THIS FILM?!
Wonderful intro.
This is my favorite video from the verge !!!!
Just so you guys know, VSCOcam is available on Android!
I’ve been watching the verge for a long time now… For me personally, this is THE BEST video they have put out. I think it’s great for the general public too because it’s relevant to so many people. Keep up the outstanding quality of content! Thanks
Great video!
Dude.…. THIS IS TOO MUCH.
If you’re gonna go around doing that in the streets of NYC get ready to get your ass handed to you!
That intro…Please… ;///
Thanks
lmao..android sheeps are here. You really cannot watch any phone video without them trying to think and fail badly ..
So professional.
i have almost the same workflow
Wow this is amazing.
As always, great videos from the verge!!
Really liked this video , and although the iPhone has a superior camera compared to most Android phones, I would like to see a similar video for taking pics using an Android phone. Thanks and please make more of these verge@work videos.
beginning track title?
Why the hell did i watch the whole video even though i know i will never have an iPhone?
Excellent, when are you going to do the same video with an android phone >:-)
I like this guy. ***** (or *****?)
Let’s see more videos with him.
Waiting eagerly for an “Android darkroom”.
God, I love it
How many phones did he destroy?”
There’s no picture of girls at all. Do you hate girls?
Great video. Easy to understand, pro tips, much better result, better memories. Thx!
I can’t believe Snapseed wasn’t mentioned. That’s an incredibly powerful and free app.
Brilliant video.
A lot of work for a pic
HDR AS AN ART FORM!??!?!? WTFFFFF
What app?
super cool Video .. … .. .
The production level for this video is better then most tv programs. Great content, great style and a really funny intro. Great job guys. My new Year’s resolution is to chase ‘camera roll 0’
can somebody please share the classical music at the beginning.
get a lumia 1020! no apps needed
So, iOS has obviously had great photo editing tools for a long time. How do you do accomplish all of this on Android? Or Windows Phone?
Good Lord! This was fantastic! Such great tips and hints from The Verge! Thanks you guys!
that was one shitty HDR…
Awesome tips Verge , but did the intro have to be so narcissist?
The intro was kinda douchey
So how about some help on android?
I will forever be thankful for The Verge and especially Jordan Oplinger for teaching me how to take a proper photo and process it after using apps techniques and rules on how to enhance the look of an image making it stunning
December 2016 and I keep coming back to this video for more inspiration, because this video has helped produce so many stunning images. Thank you.
What camera is used for that video?
When in doubt of editing a new photo I just took. I come back to this video to seek advice again.
I’m back here again. It’s 2017 and I still come back to this video. ♥️
I’m back again. 😭
The peak era of The Verge video production.
