Expe­di­tion 39/40 Soyuz Com­man­der Alexan­der Skvortsov of the Russ­ian Fed­er­al Space Agency (Roscos­mos), NASA Flight Engi­neer Steve Swan­son and Flight Engi­neer Oleg Arte­myev of Roscos­mos and their back­ups, Alexan­der Samokutyaev of Roscos­mos, Bar­ry Wilmore of NASA and Ele­na Sero­va of Roscos­mos, field­ed ques­tions at their train­ing base at the Gagarin Cos­mo­naut Train­ing Cen­ter in Star City, Rus­sia, out­side Moscow on March 6 as part of tra­di­tion­al pre-launch activ­i­ties before their depar­ture March 13 for their launch site in Kaza­khstan. After the news con­fer­ence, they par­tic­i­pat­ed in tra­di­tion­al cer­e­monies at Red Square in Moscow, lay­ing flow­ers at the Krem­lin Wall and tour­ing the Krem­lin as they paid trib­ute to icon­ic Russ­ian space heroes. Skvortsov, Swan­son and Arte­myev are sched­uled to launch to the Inter­na­tion­al Space Sta­tion on March 26, Kaza­kh time.
