Aboard the Inter­na­tion­al Space Sta­tion, Expe­di­tion 38 Flight Engi­neers Michael Hop­kins and Rick Mas­trac­chio of NASA and Koichi Waka­ta of the Japan Aero­space Explo­ration Agency dis­cussed life and research aboard the com­plex with tech­nol­o­gy experts and enthu­si­asts gath­ered in Austin, Texas, March 8 for the annu­al South by South­west tech­nol­o­gy con­fer­ence. Hop­kins, who has spent almost six months on the sta­tion, is sched­uled to return to Earth March 10, U.S. time with two Russ­ian crew­mates, while Mas­trac­chio and Waka­ta will return to Earth in mid-May.
