The Galaxy Note 4 is a powerhouse smartphone. It’s Samsung’s best Note yet, but it’s not for everyone.

Wow, it only took you 45 second to mention the iPhone. Kudos.
The camera looks great to me
All these people complaining about how complicated it is to use a Samsung. Oh please it’s a smart phone. And in my opinion, the smartest one yet. Learning how to make it your own is the fun part. I wager that once I get it today, it’ll only take me one day to know its inner workings like the back of my hand. I like the feeling of never running out of options. If something is too simple, it’s boring, like the iphone. Only thing I miss about my iphone is “infinity blade.” other than that, the HTC one m7 has been an awesome android phone. Now it’s time to upgrade! 😏
No way in hell will I ever tolerate Samsung copying the Boring simplicity of the iphone. These two phones are perfect yin and yang… And it needs to stay that way.
I don’t get this “Android = hard iOS = easy crap”. Lets walk through basic consumer use of a Note 4. 1.Hold down power button a little, 2. sign into crap, 3. choose regular or simple mode, 4. Use the same basic layout you have seen on every touch screen phone since forever. Why is that hard? Bottom of the screen.… just like the iphone and every smart phone before it practically, has phone, text, contacts, App drawer, web, camera. If you don’t want to use a widget don’t use it. If you don’t want to fumble through settings… don’t click the settings button. Nothing is making average joe consumer click on anything they don’t want to click on. I honestly feel that the back button on Android devices alone makes these devices easier to use than an iPhone. Hunting around for which corner apple and or the 3rd party app developers placed the back key on screen is annoying and counter intuitive as is having all of your apps all over your main screen that greets you every time you turn your phone on. Even if you don’t choose the easy mode on a Samsung device you can still recognize that bottom row of buttons and press them to do basic stuff. I wonder if the problem is that saying something like “Apple does simple best” or “Apple is the phone to get if you just want it easy” are the only arguments you can make when comparing them to a feature rich Android device. You can’t go toe to toe because iOS has considerably less toes.
Its 2014.… calling a phone big or small is pointless these days. the size of your phone is like your taste in music or your taste in food it’s all personal preference
Simple tech for simple people 🙂 I like complexity and the fact it promotes analytical thinking. Having a phone with loads of menu windows makes it much more interesting and customisable. I have Note 3 for over a year and it is the best phone I ever had!
Thank you for this review. I’ve already ordered Galaxy Note 4 for very good price (http://bit.do/Ty8Q) and can’t wait to start using it.
How stupid is the reviewer. Water sounds. If he had taken the time to look the settings he would have easily told you that sounds can be switched off. Beginning to think the American public must be simple if they can’t work out how to get to settings.
Nice review but the comment about the water sounds means you aren’t a familiar Galaxy user..
anyone know what sniper game that was ?
oh look ! some note 4 lag 1:49
Wtf… Overall good review for Samsung, but your fucking stupid as always apple fanboyinms brought the whole review down in the last minute. Stupid ass reviewer…
Can we all agree that the nexus 6 is better or no
This review made me unsubscribe the verge.
yucks.. nexus 6 is way way better than this phone.. samsung is all about lagging.. i’ve used note 2 and note 3.. time to move on with nexus
the note 4 shot 120 fps slow motion not 240 iPhone 6 plus shot 240 fps
A very simple review , but ok… The one thing you got wrong in my opinion or at least is debatable … The Nokia 1520 has an interface that is easier to figure out then the iPhone 6 plus. I don’t own a Samsung phone ‚but you have to give them credit with this phone , it isn’t just a big phone with no added features like the iphone6+,Nokia 1520. If someone wants a large phone the Note 4 seems like the one to get .
Is that what’s it’s about now. No features no things make a phone unique. It has to be stupid simple. Really?. I guess the icons of a phone or message isn’t simple enough now a days. I phones blow. Rows of icons. Is that what makes a phone good. Wow standards are really low now a days
The GALAXY NOTE 4 IS IN A CLASS BY ITSELF.….The comparison should be between the Iphone 6+ and the Nexus 6.…They both are big for the sake of being big.…
What’s with the lisp?
Samsung does the perfect job by implementing a big screen and with a plethora of features to play around.
hey verge people… can u atleast face your audience
Great review
I know every review needs somethig really stupid to pick on but the water sounds. you can turn them off. The Iphone 6 plus is easier to figure out because it has nothing to optimize the big screen. the iphone 6 plus is for people who just want attention for having a big screen phone. the note 4 is for people who want to actually use the big screen .
I was planing on buying the Note Edge but those water sounds just turned me off; guess I’ll be looking at the iPhone 6+.
Surprise. They compare it to the iPhone.
Cheap plastic my balls, at least they didn’t fucking bend like your iphone
240FPS ??
My brother got a note 4. How come the screen is turning bright, i mean very bright under sun. Can not read anything at all, is that normal? Does any one have the some problem? Thanks
Wow the verge actually mentioned the display being accurate? I’m shocked, plenty of other reviewers still perpetuate the now lie that amoled is inaccurate and over saturated, of all the reviewers to get it right Verge is among them. Strange.
god DAYUM i hate those water sounds.
he was sooo close to not mention the word ”iphone” on this video…but he couldn’t resist -.-
Not the most usable? I have friends in collage who are no bright spark in the technology sense yet they can use android VERY easily. Seriously I like apple products quite a bit but god damn stop liking it’s arse 😀
The Verge stop mentioning apples products in your android videos the iphone cant compete with this
But but but… we like the water sounds!
At 3:20 that is kill shot i love that game
Ok, I really hope he was kidding with the water sounds, but listening to all the BS cons he listed, these reviews from verge can’t be trusted.
Not comfortable to hold? But feels good? Make your mind up, what do you want to say.
1:26 Hm… I beg to differ. What happened to the LG G3? Or even the Meizu Mx4 Pro? But I congratulate Verge on finally reviewing something well, without going on about iPhone is so much better. To an extent. That is, (4:18) when you said the this still wasn’t good as the 6+. That really wasn’t needed. Nevertheless, you people should do more of these type videos to show that you actually can review well. Or was this whole review leading upto 4:18?
I have watched every review on the note 4 and this one is the best. short, to the point, and articulate.
hahah…hate the water sounds.aaarrrgghh
i have note 4 too.switched from nexus 5.
The Verge added 1 video to All things Apple Samsung Galaxy Note 4 review LOL
I love the narration from this dude
What game was pierce playing ?
Not even a minute in and he’s already making the video an iPhone comparison!
what color should i pick?
Note 4s are amazing phablets.…years after its release it’s still relevant.
great video
watching in 2021 lol
