Inbox By Gmail, Nexus 6 vs iPhone 6 Plus — Android Weekly

the real issue is, the Nexus phones in the past  were pret­ty cheap so you knew the cam­era was gonna be crap!..But now the they’ll be charg­ing a pre­mi­um price but some how i think the cam­er­a’s still gonna be a peace of sh**! 

Why don’t they just add this to the gmail app with on/off settings?

Inbox is great and all, except across three devices and 2 google accounts, the noti­fi­ca­tion alerts come in hours late while reg­u­lar Gmail is instant. :/ Any­one else hav­ing this issue?

I have a ques­tion about idle bat­tery life, and since you say you read the com­ments, here it goes:

When not using my Moto G 2013 for a few hours, it will some­times use a lot of pow­er. The bat­tery graph line will be tum­bling down, despite offi­cial bat­tery his­to­ry details claim­ing that phone is not awake and that noth­ing is using the bat­tery.
 
When behav­ing prop­er­ly, the bat­tery graph line will look straight for the entire idle dura­tion (screen off).

The only solu­tion I found is to man­u­al­ly pow­er down the device and pow­er it back on. It will behave prop­er­ly from that point on- until it does­n’t. This is usu­al­ly 2–3 recharges, which is in my case 3–5 days.
 
I’m using the lat­est avail­able android 4.4.4 and my back­ground apps are in check and are the exact same regard­less if the phone is behav­ing prop­er­ly while idle or not.

Hm… using apps with black back­ground can save you bat­tery pow­er on (AM)OLED dis­play. I think that does­nt work on LCD.

On the oth­er hand, the irony is, Nexus phones come with amoled dis­play… but google apps do not use black back­ground con­sis­tant­ly. (even stock Android UI has light back­ground). Pit­ty, I pre­fer dark back­ground cos it’s easy on my eyes.

What are your thoughts on midrange phones 

I returned my iPhone 6 and will be get­ting the nexus 6 when it comes out. It will be a very dif­fer­ent expe­ri­ence because ive been using iPhone’s my whole life.

Blacks to save bat­tery — I guess Win­dows Phone is already ahead in this as most of their local apps like cal­en­der have a clear black background. 

You could use Isyn­cr I have a Mac with the whole apple/itunes ecosys­tem ad it works pret­ty well

Great vlog, live sec­tion on Gmail. Where does one go to learn it and is it avail­able yet? I would love reminders and maps pop­ping up so very use­ful. Tx heaps

You don’t have to “con­vert” or “trans­fer” your music to make it work with android. Android is like a USB flash dri­ve. You just drag and drop your files like you nor­mal­ly would. You can find all your .mp3 files in the music fold­er on your com­put­er. Your music play­er in android will detect the meta data that iTunes has saved for you, spec­i­fy­ing the artist, genre, etc.
