New Samsung Mid-Tier Phones, Google Hangout Updates — Android Weekly

Hang­out has to become EASY TO USE. Take a look at skype: You down­load, install, make account and add peo­ple by spe­cif­ic user name. To use Hang­outs You gat­ta know what the hell is Google Plus and how to use it to add peo­ple on hang­outs you kind of gat­ta type in their name and look through a huge list of peo­ple with same names and stuff. It is very not clear how to add peo­ple and how to use Hang­outs. I do like hang­outs over skype lol but hon­est­ly it is hard for old­er peo­ple or even sort of old­er par­ents to use it. And there is no nice stand alone app for Win­dows (MUST BE A NORMAL APP and NOT chrome extension) 

Hang­outs needs adver­tis­ing and hard sell­ing. It has so many good fea­tures, its like skype mixed with what­sapp but your con­ver­sa­tions can involve 10 peo­ple at once. It needs adver­tis­ing thats why peo­ple eat up face time its what peo­ple were look­ing for most peo­ple dont know half of google stuff exists

hey jace answer­ing your ques­tion you asked in the end of the of video i think   hang­outs will be a ter­rif­ic sms app and instat­nt mes­sages if  put a cus­tom wall­pa­per on the sms screen.

First­ly, Sam­sung pro­duce way too many phones for my lik­ing. Their pro­duc­tion is over­whelm­ing and puts many buy­ers (includ­ing me) off from buy­ing their phones. I think this is one of the rea­sons apple does well, they pro­duce one or two phone a year. I wish they would dras­ti­cal­ly reduce their pro­duc­tion as not only does it put buy­ers off their prod­ucts it also stops peo­ple switch­ing from Apple to Android.

I think hang­outs is a great ser­vice. It needs a few improve­ments though, first­ly I like the dif­fer­ent coloured mes­sages in Mes­sen­ger and I like the way if the per­son your con­tact­ing does­n’t have a pro­file pic­ture it shows the let­ter of their name. It also needs more adver­tis­ing so peo­ple know about it. Final­ly Google need to stop mak­ing oth­er mes­sag­ing apps just stick to hang­outs, Google need to slow down their prod­ucts too which relates to Sam­sung. They need to slow down and make things sim­pler the aver­age per­son does­n’t want loads of changes only geeks love new software

You will need to oblit­er­ate the tex­ting ser­vices. But the thing is, tex­ting ser­vices still has the largest user base. Not many peo­ple, espe­cial­ly in the third world coun­tries has access to the internet

Android phones need to have small­er sizes. White girls who cant even imag­ine a big phone won’t even look at an android. (dis­claimer white girls is being used in a com­i­cal way not racially)

Hmm inter­est­ing. I cer­tain­ly would like a larg­er screen on my phone but with­out a large price tag. We’ll see how cheap these devices real­ly are. But even assum­ing they are with­in my price range, I’d still be wor­ried about try­ing Touchwiz.

Hey Jayce! Thanks for the video re. the Sam­sung mid-tier phones. Just one quick ques­tion though. What exact­ly IS a mid-tier phone?

I have a Note 4, which we all know is large. The ONLY rea­son I haven’t bought a tablet is because I’m addict­ed to that darn SPen and can­NOT afford either Note tablet. Bummer!

I think google hang­out is out­dat­ed com­pare to the all the Asian apps such as: LINE, Kakao, and WeChat.  Ever since I moved to Asia, these apps are the main form of com­mu­ni­ca­tions from tex­ting to call­ing.  Google Hang­out is still a bit con­fus­ing, you still need to add peo­ple by gmail, I am lost as to how to find or text some­one.  Google is try­ing too hard to sync every­thing from Google+, Gmail, and Hang­out togeth­er, and it’s becom­ing very con­fus­ing for the user to know where the main con­trol pan­el of func­tion­al­i­ty is for hang­out.  I think Hang­out and Skype are slow­ly loos­ing momen­tum as the Amer­i­can mar­ket slow­ly picks up chat the Asian chat apps.  Even small a small coun­try like Viet­nam has a chat app called ZALO, which I find more user friend­ly than Hangout.
