Its about time lmao!!
Why is there a million people from the verge reporting from ces???
So how good is this compared to the Canon 5D Mark II?
I am using a canon t5i and the touchscreen really comes in handy !
Bastards, I bought my D5300 only 6 months ago. On a side note, that touch focus looks terrible for video. I can achieve the same thing now by holding down the shutter half way
Canon on the shoulder and Fuji around your neck!
part of me feels like no one who knows how to manage the settings and exposure on these cameras will give a shit about a touch screen.
IT’S NEEEEKON. NOT NIGHKON YOU
The only reason the LCD screen on my DSLR gets any use lately is to occasionally review pictures. Other than that, it’s much more comfortable to use the camera without bothering with the big screen.
Slow clap…
Need.
I doubt traditional DSLR will be mainstream for much longer.
Two weeks after I get a d3300 🙁
we come to a time where you have to pay extra for NOT having a touchscreen
and also Canon Rebel T4i introduced with the same functionality back in 2012
Awesome 🙂
wait did you say 999$ …thats amazing for the price range
Why do you want that. It’s a DSLR, not a compact camera. With DSLRs you use the viewfinder, not a screen. The touchscreen, to a degree, is a gimmick.
so is this now more expensive than the D7100? that seems odd
According to Nikons product videos you can use the touch screen as a second control dial while using the view finder. Just leaving this here.
Man ! Just bought a nikon d5300
And i was confused between canon t5i and d5300 (t5i for touch screen only )
Bought a new d5300 egnoring the no touch
now d5500 with a touch scren???
999$ ?????
So D5300 price will drop soon right ? Hahahah it’s really worth to wait .
999 dollars for an ‘entry level dslr’… offputting.
I will buy this only !!
Woah Nikon is actually doing something! The mirrorless system cameras will soon leave them in the dust if they don’t come up with something new soon.
If my photographic abilities are rubbish, it doesn’t matter which camera I use. Canon 70D still trumps this Nikon offering.
0:54 Jobs look-a-like?
Canon and Nikon need to step up their game.
NEW FEATURE! TOUCH SCREEN!..
its 5400.Cmon Nikon this cheap marketing is boring.
What is that button on the lens for?
ewWWw hope this does not propagate up the line to pro bodies
Just started photography and bought 70D. I think touchscreen and flip screen are must have features. They are really handy. Like when I want to take pic in the crowded. I just rise my camera and use live view to focus and take picture. Same goes to when you capturing low object on the ground
Welcome to 2015, nikon. Let’s try to catch up with the rest of the world though…
Wait …1000$ ? Couple of Canon and some Sony mirrorless camera have touch screen, plus it much cheaper too…? Can someone explain why this camera cost 1000$? And it only a entry level camera…
Just got a D5300.
Please Click this link below to know actual differences between both cameras.
I Think there are quite a few awesome upgrades. See the camera overview
