Apple’s newest MacBook is tiny, thin, light, and kind of amazing. But is it powerful enough? Is it worth the price?

#MacBook #review
The Verge’s review videos are the best. That’s why I love The Verge
Beginning of video
New MacBook is amazing
End of video
This MacBook is kind of a hassle.
k. Will watch a different review then lol
Can Hilary delete her emails on it?
I’m sorry
I’m a few years too late but this is an amazing review. and his prediction did come true. I’m about to buy a Chromebook that has the same form factor, short comings and feature. only thing is, they aren’t short comings anymore. Asus 302.
#portgate
‘It might be not your next laptop but the one after that’
Bought an iPad Air 2 instead and later a MacBook Pro
2 years later, you now have a dongle that has all the ports of a Non-Retina Macbook Pro, + HDMI and USB — C
The future is nice.
impressive typer on mute
Hi I’m from the future and I’ve seen the new MacBook. It’s pink.
You could also consider that if we use apples pricing model, the macbook costs 454.65 to manufacture. It has impressive technology, and I would buy the higher spec model if it was about 700ish dollars, because that might be worth it, but 1600-ish dollars for a computer worth 35 percent of what it’s being sold for is shitty. Also, O N E USB‑C PORT. Guess Apple has forgotten how to smoothly transition from things, such as the switch from Motorolla to PowerPC, and to Intel. I bet Apple’s team will immediately switch from Intel to their new apple chips like rumored, instead of slowly bringing it out.
No ports ugh
Your an amazing story teller
Hi, the future here. I’m here to tell you: you’re wrong.
Apple just discontinued the product. And I got this in my recommendation. Rip
RIP the future.
I don’t get why apple didn’t just call this the macbook air?
i also can’t wait for that future to come but for now…i guess i’ll just have to wait. I honestly loved this when i found out about it but when i saw the price and the cons i was very disappointed! This was the only apple product that i fell in love with, so light and elegant with that edge keyboard and then they withdrew it from the market instead of trying to make it better!
This MacBook did indeed inspire a generation of MacBooks. From the Pros to the new Air. It’s gone now, but it sure ain’t forgotten.
Hi! I’m from the future and let me tell ya: All laptops do not look like this. Thankfully. 👎
Lol, they discontinued it… Yeah, THE FUTURE
2015: “the problem with the future is that it’s not here yet”
2020: Introducing ARM powered MacBook
this Mac is still incredible thin and actually has enough power for moderate use, fanless and silent
This laptop was so ahead of its time in 2015. Waiting for its come-back with Apple Silicon
This video did not age well 🙁 but could be resurrected this year, fingers crossed for that! 🤞🏼
My heart skipped when I saw iPhoto… RIP
This machine came 5 years early. Can’t wait for Apple Silicon and maybe even a liquid retina display.
Anyone from future???
Its so strange to see young Dieter
It’s interesting to watch this video in October of 2020. ARM powered Macs are just around the corner and the MacBook has been killed off (again) in favor of the bigger, more powerful and practical 3rd gen Air, and MacBook Pro, in 13in and 16in (no 15 anymore) variants. No sign of a MacBook replacement. Meanwhile, Apple went all in on iPad, with 8th gen iPad, 5th gen Air, and two sizes of Pro, each with smart connectors and Apple Pencil support. I consider the 11in pro to be the spiritual successor to the MacBook featured in the this video. I wonder what the future of mobile computing will look like for Apple, and the for the computer industry as a whole.
YouTube: now
5 years later, Apple Silicone M1 is already released.
And this laptop line is dead.
great review
4:35 Look at M1 MacBook Air…damn…they really predicted the future, didn’t they
this laptop has aged really well with the ubiquity of usb c and wireless technologies as well as cloud computing on the mac ecosystem, not to mention the keyboard replacement programs
In iWork in iPhone and iPad even With Pysical Keyboard and there will be Type Writhing Sound and you can Choose few.
It’s 2022 and I’m so glad to see how far apple’s laptops have come thanks to their own custom silicon
“They are about the future. Someday, we’ll have a processor that fits inside this tiny body that is powerful enough to do everything you really needed to do…”
Wow, looking back at this while we have Apple M1 is very emotional…
when being ahead of its time is a downside
m2 chip woud be perfect
They should Revive MacBook (Not Pro nor Air) with Apple Silicon Chip and use the old design of MacBook Air 2018, it will be awesome
This laptop was great and now it’s gone I think it was meant to take the hit for removing ports and switching to usbc so people wouldn’t freak out that hard when they revealed the 2016 MacBook Pro. Either way, MagSafe is back and the MacBook 12 is long forgotten by Apple, and everyone else and Intel chips were ditched altogether
Someday is today.
This was made for arm before arm was ready.
It had all the right ideas. Just the wrong processor. Its spiritual successor is the M1 Macbook Air.
Reached here with apple silicon
Apple in my opinion should bring this MacBook and call it the New MacBook Air especially with the M1/M2 chip. You don’t even have to change the design except to make the bezels on the screen a bit thinner and make it in 2 sizes, 12 inch and 14 inch sizes. And rename the current MacBook Air to MacBook.
4:35 yup M1 and M2
they should definitely bring this back now that apple silicon is well established
watching this in 2023 feels a bit weird
