with­in the past 6 — 7 years the gov­ern­ment and rail­roads have been toy­ing with the new leader pro­gram and the ptc which may have been the cause of the train wreck in philly! the gov­ern­ment and the rail­roads have been prac­tic­ing this method and have failed mis­er­able with the freight trains so why not try them on a more con­trol­lable train like com­muters or Amtrak… but why the sud­den accel­er­a­tion and the engi­neer refus­es to talk about it! but will­ing gave up all his per­son­al items! how many times do they have to derail their 20,000 ton Lionel train sets before the pub­lic real­ly knows what is happening!!!

How about bank­ing the curves so train can run 100 mph all the time?

It might have been pre­vent­ed if it was­n’t run by gov­ern­ment in the first place.
They have a cap­tive audi­ence and still man­age to lose mon­ey sell­ing food. Only gov­ern­ment could be that inept 

but is it going to be made by apple ? if not than its prob­a­bly going to be shit used only by chi­nese people

No mat­ter how many train crash any­body can show and how many deaths you can count since the very exis­tence of the rail­way, it will be much more safer trans­porta­tion than the car, and also more con­ve­nient. (do you see japan with 10 lane high­ways or 10 car trains every 2 min­utes?)
Train acci­dents always get much more atten­tion than auto­mo­bile acci­dents. part­ly to car mak­ers using
USA is the unsafest coun­try to trav­el by train, Japan (as a great exam­ple) does­n’t have that fan­cy “ptc” it has a much sim­pler and cheap­er safe­ty device that does­n’t let train dri­vers over­speed.
My coun­try (Argenti­na) is folow­ing the same path of invest­ing in train infraestructure.

Let me get this straight google has self dri­ving cars with an impec­ca­ble safe­ty record yet trains which run on rails thus elim­i­nat­ing most of the vari­ables a self dri­ving car has to face is some kind of insur­mount­able prob­lem? Also I bet speed con­trol on dan­ger­ous stretch­es and curves could be imple­ment­ed with­out the need of satel­lites and bil­lions of dollars

This is crazy!!! Japan­ese Shinkansen is all con­trolled by this kind of sys­tem. Com­pared to oth­er allo­cat­ed bud­gets, the cost should be a very tiny amount of mon­ey if the gov­ern­ment pays it.
