Update ur video lol it’s 2015 lol
I’ll just leave this here: https://home-assistant.io/
IOTA is the future
This is still stupid in 2017
IOT is a horrible acronym lol
Woah there don’t get all black mirror on us
My smart slippers won’t connect to my smart rock. SEND HELP.
Meanwhile my Echo here is playing your music and telling me about timers that dont exist cause she hears you… -.-
they could simply create a widget that lets you control the device at all times
This video could of chosen products like the Google Home which sounds better in audio and can stream your own library for free. Lifx are a amazing alternative to Phillips Hue as well as you don’t need a hub. There is technology which is actually optimised and I feel the video does not reflect that. You have to do your own research and pick and choose what is convenient with yourself.
Wait, they first talk about how more technology makes it more complicated and that’s why they choose a normal remote instead of an app, but then they still decide that the lock should be smartphone controlled? Why not use fingerprint sensor or keypad instead? Because if you think it’s too much of a hassle to pick up your phone to turn on music or tv etc. it must be too much of a hassle to bring up your phone everytime you’re leaving your home, especially since that’s probably the time when you have a bag and stuff and really don’t want to hold yet another thing in your hands…
mmmm problem, this all is nice for my yacht out at sea where it is on an Intranet, BUT, in a home on land EVERY single ‘connected’ item is, YES, IS hackable, probably is already sending everything it does, sees, hears etc etc back to some online facility that is storing it all. ANY intelligence agency can get into that, and, like in the USA , ALREADY IS, GUARANTEED. So, your ‘smart home’ is also your trojan horse because EVERYTHING in your home is then ‘public’ (Intelligence services, hackers etc etc)
My Alexa just started playing the song 😂

Sorry, but I will stick to a simple house with character.
I like the “design is smart” argument. The thing I found funny is the remotes are “convenient” in my place we always lose them so I’ll just watch whatever I can control or cast from my phone.
What’s apps do they use on the iPads for the home control
where was Joey Smith in the video? was he on Kolob farting light beams?
It might take long to setup but after that I’m sure it’s just a simple reconnect to the device

It’s almost 5 years later and i’m still not convinced IOT/Smarthomes have hit the mark, especially in a) optimisation and b) convenience vs. effort. I know someone who spends almost every weekend tweaking his system. Doesn’t seem worth it! Also, the expense of it all just doesn’t seem to be worth it. Little to no ROI.
the thief in the future should learn how to hack doors
Is it real somewhere have a city like Singapore? Then it is the new “continuation of education” of what is the past? Then it will be a new movement(doctrine) group(to push to be believed then humans act into it”?
