Boeing Debuts Commercial Crew Hardware
NASA,Boeing (Spacecraft Manufacturer),C3PF,Kennedy Space Center,Commercial Crew Program
Boeing held a grand opening ceremony for the revamped Commercial Crew and Cargo Processing Facility (C3PF), one of NASA’s former shuttle hangars, Friday, Sept. 4, at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Hardware for Boeing’s Crew Space Transportation (CST)-100 Starliner spacecraft is being processed in the facility as part of the company’s contract with NASA’s Commercial Crew Program.
The pressure vessel was used for early development and testing of the spacecraft and helped inform the company’s design. The structural test article upper and lower domes will be mated and used to test the company’s design prior to flight tests to the International Space Station in 2017.

This video makes me quite happy! Especially since I study Aerospace. Kudos Boeing and NASA
+Richie Whitehead there’s a decent amount of competition. in the first phase of the commercial crew program, more than 50 companies entered. however, not all of them proposed entire spacecraft, some of the companies entered ideas for specific technologies. it was about 5 or so companies that had plans to build whole spacecrafts. in the end, it will probably be Boeing and SpaceX who make through all the milestones and receive final certification. the plan is to have 2 winners. it’s probably decent competition, given how few the number of companies capable of developing complete vehicles are.
okay so, I love NASA but Come on nobody have time or will to watch 56 minutes video, where it is just talk. Think about it, your videos should be short and interesting, your chanel should wake up people curiosity I mean IT IS NASA
That was beautiful. I missed the live event, so I’m glad NASA puts this stuff up online afterwards.
what an exciting time we live in
wow i thought the title said “Booing”
This is what encourages me to work for nasa or boeing when I finish school.
spaceX Dragon vs Boeing Starliner : Interesting times ahead for the US space program!
