For me for example, I have dreams of being an aerospace engineer, or doing astronomy work, but some of my main goals and dreams in life is to work in space, and to one day set foot on the Moon and experience an Earthrise.
Not everyone needs to specialize in pilot based work as an astronaut, medical professionals, astronomers, cosmologists, physicists, engineers, etc should all get more opportunities to be civilian professional astronauts, and hopefully with third party private organizations changing the game, that will happen sooner rather than later.
