This almost feels like the US Navy going hipster on us saying ‘yeh you know that whole VR craze going on right now, we were perfecting that shit years ago, so…‘
I mean, they said “never going to make it into consumer hands”, but a couple things come to mind: Drones, Tor, Internet and more direct to this, the HTC Vive. The lighthouse tech they’re implementing can potentially emulate the level of spacial awareness and interaction that their cyberpunk samurai VR headset provides.
