Kinda reminds me of the feature the Ubuntu Edge has.
microsoft better patent this shit or else some company out there will copy and call it theirs and tell the world revolutionary.
I wouldn’t say “a full pc”. It’s a windows RT like experience from what I see. That is not a full pc experience.
Sooo it’s essentially where Windows RT went to go die?
now we wait for a phone to have at least 256 GB drives — and you basically do not need work laptops anymore (if your company uses windows). well done MS, well done!
I would have been blown away by this if Ubuntu didn’t think of this a few years ago
So the apps run full screen only?
Like Tablet Mode?
I’ve suspected this would happen for quite some time now. Our phones are going to get to a point where they’re strong enough to drive full suite apps
With continuum, can I text from the desktop when I plug my phone in? And will the continuum on the phone work with any screen? I have an first-gen Surface with Windows RT that I don’t really use anymore, but could I theoretically couple it with my phone to get windows 10 on it (essentially completely ignoring the RT software)?
Windows phone might win over a lot of PC geeks with this feature
This is bad idea.….It’s should wireless…but it need a device and some wire.….if job steven alive…he would make it wireless and mutiplt task…
What about 3rd party apps.?
This may not be the killer feature for first world countries, but for people in developing countries like India or Brazil where many people only have a phone but not a PC, this is a huge advantage over other phones.
Should make the app able to snap, after all that’s the whole point of PC
Tom Warren wears an Apple watch ???
This has incredible potential, seeing as for some people the only computing device they own is a smartphone, now all you need is a monitor (or a TV) and a keyboard and mouse, no more need for a PC.
I can also imagine monitor, keyboard & mouse stations in places like an airport just waiting for you to plug your phone in. (yes i know ubuntu phones can do that too)
all your windows keynote videos are so shitty!!
because of you people will lose interest.
I love my iPhone , but it looks very cool.
Chill out, camera guy.
SHITTY MOUSE
Just hook up your iPhone to your TV .
it makes OS TVs kinda needless 😀
Lets be clear here, it is like windows 10 but it’s not.
What I’d want would be a way to plug in an ethernet cable into the hub and have it connect to the phone which would use it instead of wi-fi. Also, if the hub should have more than 2 ports so you can plug in external HDDs, printers, etc. I’d buy such a hardware setup, provided I could install GNU/Linux. I wouldn’t trust Microsoft OS or software ever again.
@Kirat Alreja no the same :p
Its not a PC… Come back to me when I can run Photoshop and actual PC APPS. then we can talk. RIght now it just makes mobile apps bigger which is kinda useless
with this feature apple will die . apple and iOS will pay for their expensive price . thank you Microsoft . I love you …
Exe files work or not?
Is continuum also a wireless widi/miracast receiver?
Just show me the goddamn screen instead of his neck and hands ‑_-
Its not ‘just like a PC’, I have tried it its just a big screen for the phone, the feature is really short of the mark, knowing Microsoft they will not make a go of it, which is a real shame.…
x86 or not?
I want that mouse.
This is one feature Windows will always have the upper hand with!
how comfortable is that Sculpt mouse?
