you don’t bother peoples who are working behind? just saying 🙂
It will only last for 8 hours= 4 hours on each side of the Earth before it orbits back to its place outside the Solar System. Have Fun Astronomers!

Interesting…
A 4.4km wide asteroid can take out an entire continent? really?
What time? Does anyone know?
WOPPING 22 MILES PER SECOND. I laughed at first (already forgetting the per second part) but it’s going about 79,200mph (Miles Per Hour for those who do not know)
More of her verge!! And i won’t unsubscribe.

And people in Hawaii want to stop new telescopes from being built and take down the telescopes there now. I guess they’re on the side of the asteroids

Oh ok so NASA doesn’t track because it could only wipe out an entire continent, not important enough because it’s not like it would wipe the entire planet. Seems like an excuse since they only caught it 21 days before it’s closest point. So if this thing actually had been on a direct attack point we wouldn’t have even had enough time to replay some cool Armageddon scenes and nuke it or something. Sounds pretty scary to me. Instead of people tripping how we are not prepared at all and would just become extinct like the dinosaurs because NASA can’t track these things sooner because we rather spend 30X as much on military expenditure ( though also important) all you morons are just commenting on how pretty she is. Yes I would give her my milky ways too but shit you figure we would be smarter than this and actually be able to have a plan for the worst case since it is bound to happen eventually and our entire species survival which took 4 billion years of evolution is at stake.
i want to be inside
0:37 I think eccentric orbit means an especially elliptical orbit, not just any elliptical orbit since nothing in the solar system orbits in perfect circles. The planets orbit in ellipses that are close to being circular, though.

Wow, I’m proud of you The Verge, you didn’t compare the asteroid to the new iPad Pro or the iPhone 6s
