Google has made a tablet for the first time, the Pixel C. It has beautiful hardware and a clever little keyboard, but can Android keep up with this vision for the future of computing?

Thanks for the honest review. I was thinking about getting this but I’ll cross this off my list of options. I had expected that the Google hardware and software would function well above average together. I know it is new and will have issues but lag in native apps and a keyboard that doesn’t work quite right out of the box??
Wears a Moto 360, uses a pixel c. I’m sensing a Google lover.
At least Android runs MS Office Apps offline, unlike chrome OS. lol
Sooooo Lagdroid is still Lagdroid. I see.
FUCK ISLAM
The square root of two detail feels really good.
The landscape/portrait mode complaint seems aimed at the wrong target to me. All instances of that are application based and those applications are made by people other than those who are developing android. For instance, Google has zero control over whether instagram is portrait or landscape, only instagram controls that. So, aside from those instances when a google or android feature does that, the complaint is aimed in the wrong direction.
The fact is, Google designed the product to ship with ChromeOS. Instead, they changed it to Android 6. In future version of Android, Google tells it will merge Android and ChromeOS together. Then we might see split screen feature.
When you say “high resolution screen” you should really clarify the actually resolution.
One man’s high resolution is another man’s low resolution.
Put Remix OS on this = Problem Solved
Remix launching on 1st march hope it will change the os a lot
It should be running with chrome os and have an LTE version
“now that Windows, IOS even Samsung doing it”
Quarter of an inch is thick? If I’m not mistaken, the iPad Air 2 is about that thick, right?
has anyone else had huge wifi issues with the pixel c? or is it just me? I just returned my google pixel c and I’m really sad about that as I really liked it
lte version?
So google fixed all the main launch issues, now provides multi-window capability with Android N, and also chopped the price to about $375? OK! Getting it Thurs!
do you guys know if this tablet will get faster with Android n? I really want this but it’s too expensive if it’s gonna be slow or won’t get updated etc
1:39 I hate you too
garbage
All tablets suck in my opinion. I’d buy a good ultrabook, or convertible all the way. Either the iPad or any of these Android tablets are not my taste, there are just too much drawbacks.
android n fixes it
lol every time you said “OK Google” it opened Google on my 2013 nexus 7 hahaha
this looks so much more enticing with the Remix OS installed… I mean seriously it’s amazing.…
Everytime I look for a product i look up reviews, and I can never find something without bad reviews… 🙁
Burn android
Yet another Google’s piece of junk. They should just stick to web search!
This tablet would go great with Remix OS
1:59 even apple* not samsung ‑_- Samsung tablets had Multi-Window in a long time
if you mean google is actually making a tablet maybe, but wasnt the nexus 7 and 10 google tabs
Bluetooth keyboards suck.
developing on a tablet? who hired this moron?
Whats your opinion after the nougat update?
there’s no stylus?
what about the camera ? it’s a pixel tablet ya know ?
dude what’s track name on 1:22 ?
That vox music tho…
Google pixel c teblet price
I’m sorry but could u expose Google
Almost 1 year ago in August 2017, Android 8.0 was launched and was available for the Google Pixel C shortly after. I myself posted in the Nexus Forum about an issue (probably with Nvidia’s drivers for the Tegra X1 chip inside) that froze the tablet whenever any 3D intensive applications or games like Clash Royale were used. The screen flashed the last 3–4 frames repeatedly and the only, temporary fix was to restart the app.
Later in December, Android 8.1 arrived and didn’t fix this issue. We posted in the Nexus Forum, on Reddit and in the Google Issue Tracker and this bug was recognized and given a P2 S2 status.
Google defines P2 as “An issue that NEEDS to be addressed on a reasonable timescale.”
Some of us (47 people) who were savvy and aware enough to star the issue waited patiently for 11 months and 11 security patches, waiting for a fix. There was never a single word in response from the people in the Nexus forum except trying a factory reset, or the devs at issue tracker except a ‘status — pending’.
Fast forward to today, a week away from August 2018 and that status has changed from ‘Pending’ to ‘WONT FIX — OBSOLETE’. They say Google doesn’t provide bug fixes for this device after Android 8.1, only security patches…when the problem clearly emerged after Android 8.0 and before 8.1.
To say the least, I didn’t expect this kind of behavior and support from a company like Google. Lesson learned…Thanx but no thanx Google, won’t ever buy again. Apple has issues but they fix them even if they don’t acknowledge them. Google’s policy — Don’t Acknowledge and Don’t Fix

The ok Google triggered my phone
I may actually buy this.
I come from the future. Lineage’s Unofficial Android 12 is WAY faster than any official OS Google released for it. Still not great for floating window mode, but is actually useable now.
how did they go from this to the pixel slate?
