I guess it’s not technically a “hands-on” then 😉
they just make it clumsier than it has to be.
thats german engineering
Why don’t people realize that hovering your hand and waving is more tiresome than resting your finger on a button and just pressing it, and not to mention even faster. Are people so lazy to even press things now????
iPad??? so random
Netflix while driving soon?
That gesture UI is pointless for autonomous driving and awful for non-autonomous driving– a compromising solution with no benefits when compared to standard touch and voice Interfaces.
Waving in air takes more stress n energy, while on touch screen ur palms are are resting..
Why fix what isn’t broken ? Whats wrong with buttons ?
LOL
this seems more like a gimmick and extra work than just touching or using button to scroll
Didn’t people learn from Xbox Kinect that this is a terrible user experience?
Not like iPad. It’s like Xbox Kinect. Great idea BMW has come with!
@m4mario We learnt from Kinect that it HAS a great user interface
Forcing the driver to looked away from the road is quite dangerous. He/she must be enough time just to make sure that he/she choose and pressing the appropriate button. In contrast to presence of physical keys that can be touched and felt and no need to see.
Gestures are gimmick ..yes why just simple press a button when you can wave like a idiot .…guess i will stick with “old” tech
“kinda like the ipad” wuttt
I don’t like air touch systems, you spend to much time fighting with it. I’d rather just have a touch screen system.
What was wrong with a physical button? BMW are just trying to complicate something so simple
I think those stuff (I mean gestures and so) aren’t as efficient and useful as bottoms.. makes the driver eyes on the screen instead of the road!!
dumb design concept… clearly a designer delirious design
That’s sick
The car looks pretty dope!
use the force luke
Is this genuinely more intuitive/easier/more reliable than a button?
It has that gesture motion on my galaxy edge but i haven’t tried it yet because i feel like everytime something passes over it, my arm, or whatever, it’s going to turn it on…etc.
air touch like samsung galaxy s4
In the starting of the video says hands on airtouch I mean how you gonna put your hands on it.… 😁 😁 😁
It’s crazy the the new borne of this generation will be living like the kids in the futuristic movies we watched growing up.
this will be useful once they come out with that technology that makes my arms weightless.
Xbox kinect car version 2.0
OMG that’s so terrible.
And if you have trembling hands?
what about tactile experience? I can type and use steering wheel buttons by touch. Because of the tactile feedback. If there is no tactile feedback I have to look to get the visual confirmation that otherwise the touch would do. That means I can’t look at the road at that moment.
