If this was priced at around $100 it’s probably a solid buy, but its $1200 dollars which is quite expensive for any electric rideable really
You should checkout ZAR E‑scooters. They’ve got a kickstarter going right now. Can fit in a backpack. Standard config can get you 6miles at 12.5MPH and their High config gets 12miles at 12.5MPH. Even high config option is cheaper than the scooter here… you can grab standard on early bird for like $250
What’s the difference between this and the EcoReco M5?
You can buy a normal electric scooter from any superstore like Walmart for like $99.99, that has a top speed of 16mph, optional (and detachable) seat, and a good brushless motor. Of course they’re big, bulky, and have an acid battery, but c’mon, it’s 100 bucks. If you’re gonna get an electric scooter, get one of those. I wouldn’t get one of these for another 1 or 2 years until the price goes down and the new motors and battery technologies are perfected.
I am building a electric skateboard with 35 miles of range, top speed of 25mph and only 17 pounds, and only for $600. It’s going to be one of the best electric skateboards out there, period!
Can we have more of Sean?
I’d take this over the electric skateboard and those pseudo hoverboards any day. At max, I would spend $300 on this. CES stuff is too overpriced. They can’t seriously expect their stuff to sell well.
get a bike
it’s cool, for $200 I might pick one up for fun, however practically I would much rather a push bike anyday, and your going to want to wear a helmet either way
Did u heard about Go pro?
15 miles of range? Perfect. My job is a 6 Mike round trip. This would be perfect.
would’ve liked it was built like regular muscle power scooter with a light battery in the backpack with a magnet power cord connector and a price tag $300–400
this seems quite nice actually, most ridables are novelty bullshit
Why walk anymore? The next generation is going to grow up fat..
I have the m3 and put over 1000 miles on it in NYC. The shocks in this model are so bad that I like to wear memory foam shoes in order to not feel like I’m about to die from shaken baby syndrome. In regards to practicality. This is a fantastic alternative to a bicycle. It’s much cheaper than a car, and I use on almost a daily basis. It’s a bit scary in the city streets so you have to stay on high alert. But aside from that this is a fantastic commuter.
FYI, this is a clone of a patgear e5 electric kick scooter; around 5500RMB [US$840] in china; there are better models from other brands, with pneumatic tyres, for example [checkout inokim], but they are still heavy [inokim light is about 12kg]
I had a similar one when I was 12 (12 years ago)..
..well apart from the suspensions and regen braking!
And in contrast with this, it was pretty cheap.
Also it didn’t have that p*ssy-rider-system. When you were on a standstill and feed the throttle, it threw you back!
Aaah, all the memories 😛
Unfortunately it hated water and ironically it died from the rain.
I would pay $300 at the most for that scooter, anything higher is an insult.
are these legal to ride in NY/NJ?
There’s lot’s of practical electric scooter you dummies
35 lbs is anything but practical.
you could have gave all those measurements in human units as well.. not pounds and unicorns or whatever
The question is how long the battery last with full charge and if run 12 mph in a flat surface
Wow, the speed of this scooter seems so fast! The great stability is what I focus on, so I prefer my own VehiGo e‑scooter that offers the ultimate in stability and handling.
