Empathy is the ability to understand and share feelings. Only a handful of species have this trait, including humans. A recent scientific study might have uncovered evidence that tells us why we feel this emotion — and it’s all thanks to a rodent.

Yes… I am a farmer and I can say all animals have empathy, anger and all other feelings like you and I.. Thats why I love my work. Dairy farmer. And all you vegans are doing it wrong. One can love and respect nature whilst being a animal farmer regardless of size.
Cool video! I like the new guy and the new science videos in general!
why am I subscribed to this channel
That’s soon awesome
Stupid
Yes! Off-course ! Why don’t they???
there was no technology here…
has anyone else on this channel watched the dvd evolutions achilles heels? fascinating movie that reviews assumptions and predictions of darwinian evolution, and materialistic explanations for life. materialistically driven scientists are always trying to show that humans are simply another kind of animal, nothing special. they are also using a flawed incorrect model, as you will see if you watch the movie I have mentioned above.
Interesting video for once, but it belongs on Vox
does cats also have empathy?
“animals” as opposed to humans, or other animals? Aren’t humans animals too?
If you want to obtain “evidence that tells us [humans] why we feel [empathy]” (as you detail in your description), do research on HUMANS, not animals. There is a difference.
Internal concept? It is a behavioral property, because you don’t know what people are thinking when they give you a hug either #scienceLadyFail
Don’t underestimate animals
lol this guy obviously has an ex wife, hes so salty
My rats feel empathy
So he based “animals” on just rodents? So what about cats? Dogs? There are 5 million different species on earth and your basing them on rodents…
“Humans on a good day” lul
We’ve known animals feel empathy for a while. Every mammalian brain produces oxytocin
Its interesting that these “scientists”… are doing an experiment about if the animals feel empathy, yet apaprently feel no empathy themselves towards the tiny creatures that they give a ‘mild shock’ to… and put in distress and pain. The way the lady explained the reaction as a response to stimuli… and down played it as just factual, shows clearly that she’s not very empathetic at all. Despite that humans are supposedly the masters of empathy, we are the cruelist species on the planet.
The lady that cleans the house was very close to my dog. Her mother died , she was crying one day in a chair and my dog was close to her and padding her , my dog was also making crying noises. My dog passed away 2 years ago, was a lovely Brittany Spaniel.
