The guy w glass­es has a fair point, and I would even claim that AR will like­ly be infi­nite­ly big­ger than VR. VR excludes the expe­ri­ence of inter­act­ing with real­i­ty, and as such will always be some­thing you can only do when you are not ‘doing some­thing in real life’, while AR can be imbed­ded in almost every aspect of our lives one way or the oth­er. It will start with phones, car mir­rors, win­dows, glass­es, and in just a 100 years we will use that micro chip in the eye­ball to insert the AR right there. Anoth­er 100 and we will move that chip into the brain itself, and it will no longer be ‘aug­ment­ed real­i­ty’ but ‘aug­ment­ed per­cep­tion’ and ‘aug­ment­ed cog­ni­tive process­es’ (think a cal­cu­la­tor in your brain, for instance, and access to the full school library). Amaz­ing. A hun­dred years ago, we all rode hors­es or walked.
