If fat32 has 4gb limit per size how many gb limit for exfat?
SD UC Ultra-High Capacity — 2021
Can hold a freaking 128 TB
Yes it is.. 32gb or 512gb. That was easy
When you insert a fast (class 10 U1) micro SDHC card into an old device (it accepts SDHC) can it complain about the card being too fast ?
linux kernel 5.7xx above support exfat, but its very difficulty to upgrade kernel android to kernel 5.7xx above
if you buy a card >32K, and format it with FAT, how much of it can you access?
My128GB sd was fat32. Tried to copy a Linux iso img file over 4GB and would not accept it..
why not ext?
Expandable storage should not exist in phones!
You just clearly answered several questions I have been asking for 10+ years. I thank you sir it means alot
Great video thank-you so much I have learned so much i guess I need a 64 or 128gb sd card to transfer files bigger than 4gb
So it is no used to buy exFat sd card since android only recognized fat sd
Sometimes, for new sdcard can be format type is FAT32 because old or new phone can read for FAT32 only. For old phone only said up to 32GB and new phone said up to 64/128/256/512GB or more.
For old smartphone user, you can use more than 32GB with format to FAT32. Example for my phone is HUAWEI Y3II, manufacture sdcard up to 32GB. But i put my 128GB sdcard to my phone, and suprising it read it.
32gb sdcard 4gb files only problem solving
Why didn’t we switch to ext4 instead of exFAT back then 🤔
I bought a brand new 2021 android radio and for sum dumb reason it wont read a flash drive larger that 32, is there anything thing i can do to circumvent this??
Many of the newer Android devices will accept SD cards up 256 GB. They are probably using ex-FAT. Android 8 gives a card a drive name that looks like an MS-DOS volume label so I take it they are named by volume labels. My Android 9 tablet has a long name for it’s SD card so I suspect it’s using ex-FAT. This video is five years old so there could be a ton and a half of changes.
Very helpful
5 years in and my 1 terrabyte galaxy s10+ is expandable an additional 512gb and i have heard of ones up to 128tb
I have a strange issue. 128GB Samsung Evo plus runs good on PC with exFAT (92R/65W). But on Samsung S20 (78R/35W). If the phone’s uptime is more than 1Day then speed drops further to (22R/16W). Tried formatting inside the phone which makes it ext4 and it doesn’t change anything. Yes speed increases a little bit but after 1Day same drop. I have a Android One device with SD Card support which doesn’t have this issue. The android One device doesn’t support exFAT though.
Moreover another SD Card with 16GB SanDisk Extreme FAT32 on S20 never drops in speed even with multiple days of uptime.
Off topic slightly here but isn’t it amazing how much flash memory fits on something as small as a microSD card the literal size of my fingernail and how cheap it is (256gb for ~$22 in 2022).
Thanx for ur information ☺️
