Sev­er­al hours after arriv­ing at the Inter­na­tion­al Space Sta­tion on Dec. 13, the Japan­ese Aero­space Explo­ration Agency’s unpilot­ed H‑II Trans­fer Vehi­cle (HTV‑6) was bolt­ed into place on the Earth-fac­ing port of the station’s Har­mo­ny mod­ule. Dubbed “Kouno­tori”, the Japan­ese word for “white stork”, the space­craft is loaded with more than four tons of sup­plies and exper­i­ments for the space sta­tion crew.
