Space Sta­tion Com­man­der Talks About his Mis­sion with his Alma Mater

Aboard the Inter­na­tion­al Space Sta­tion, Expe­di­tion 50 Com­man­der Shane Kim­brough of NASA dis­cussed life and research on the orbital lab­o­ra­to­ry dur­ing an in-flight inter­view Dec. 19 with Geor­gia Insti­tute of Tech­nol­o­gy. Kim­brough grad­u­at­ed from Geor­gia Insti­tute of Tech­nol­o­gy in 1998 with a Mas­ter of Sci­ence degree in Oper­a­tions Research. Kim­brough is in the midst of a four-month mis­sion aboard the sta­tion after launch­ing to the com­plex in Octo­ber aboard a Russ­ian Soyuz spacecraft.
