These are pret­ty com­mon in the food indus­try actu­al­ly. First job was at a Kore­an BBQ and our head chef had sev­er­als pairs of these he wore at work all the time. He let me try them on and it was super bizarre not being cut by his knives that were sharp enough to shave with.

These gloves did­n’t last longer than the first time I used them to slice car­rots on my Man­do­line Cheese/Vegetable Slicer.

My knife cut straight though mine- the knife stopped after 2 inch­es on my wrist, cut­ting halfway through my favorite vain

These things are made out of fiber­glass. Is that food safe? Every time they get a lit­tle dam­aged are they shed­ding fiber­glass into the food or air? That does­n’t sound yummy.

Why would­n’t you test it on the car­rot BEFORE your hand?… You put a lot of faith in them being able to stop that knife.

Do you think this would help pre­vent knife open­ing acci­dents?
(Exam­ple, Hit­ting open a knife and acci­den­tal­ly putting a fin­ger in the way of the open­ing blade?

That’s all well and good but I still trust a met­al ring­mail cut-glove way more, espe­cial­ly for chop­ping. Not to men­tion the fact that it can be cleaned in a dish­wash­er and does­n’t require machine drying.

Imag­ine going back in time with cut-proof gloves and just grab­bing peo­ple’s swords and then stab­bing them. But yeah, it won’t work if you put some­thing hard inside it, because you just end up pinch­ing the fibers between the blade and the object, so they are of course cut; they need just that lit­tle bit of give that human skin pro­vides. You should test it with some­thing like a hot dog.

The cheap brands stitch­ing frays after a a dozen uses but u dont get cut. Noone cuts their hand like shown so not a good real­ly use test. It would be tips of any­thing. These are not help­ful in pokes like when pulling a pointy knife back and blind­ly mov­ing for­ward egich hap­pens w my Japan­ese knife. Ger­man knives have more round­ed tips

Use this thing for con­struc­tion projects, saved me from saws, and box cut­ters… not nails though
