Phones how better cameras nowadays than these compact cameras.
It’s a measure of how smart phone cameras have evolved. That they can compete with a dedicated camera is no real surprise nowadays. The camera will probably always win in the right hands and maybe with a change of lens.. Still impressive though. Thanks Android authority 👍
p10 useless, why not use the p10 plus?
and use a google voice next time, your voice hurt my ears!
Lower contrast? You mean better dynamic range.
this video is kinda pointless, but good to know… good to know…
I actually kinda liked the G6 in the megaman shot the most.
you just fuckin hate the P10
The Panasonic versatility is the difference…
I would think the Google Pixel would have been a good addition in this video, is it not one of the best phone cameras…
Overall the S8 is a better all-round performer
dude why are you begging for hate
buddy, panasonic is the xiaomi of photography.
if a panasonic camera costs $550, it literally means you are comparing it to $1000 worth of other camera, like sony and canon.
compare it to canon or sony pocket camera in S8’s price range (still, pocket camera will win by miles, but at least it would be fairer comparison
dude looks like Tushar kapoor 😂😂😂
his skin says black but his hair says white
I think optical zoom is the only part now lacking in smart phones. otherwise no need to buy dslrs for daily usage or in super need.
hey you shot some footage by my house in Jackson nj! that’s king da ka at great adventure! cool!
This review is dumb. I have a Sony Alpha and an LG G6. The G6 takes wonderful photos, especially macros. And it’s constantly with me, making it excellent for taking snaps as opportunities arise.
But the image quality for low light photos, zoom photos, and portraits isn’t nearly as good as the Alpha.
On top of that, Sony has some fantastic apps like the Digital Filter app that take photos far better than any smartphone can match.
As others have mentioned, the larger sensors go a long way to improving the quality, but it also comes down to physical lenses, the ability to swap them, and manual controls.
If you’d titled this video “is it worth a dedicated camera for casual snaps?” I’d totally agree with your take. But I don’t think there are many people with flagship phones really jonesing for another camera to take with them to capture everyday pictures — people with these cameras are looking for higher quality photos and videos than you can get with phones.
Why didn’t you use a pixel?
Johnnnnnnnnnnnn V. at it again xD
This guy is an idiot. He paid $550 for a low-end m4/3 camera, the worse morrorless sensor size you can get, and stick with the kit lens. Buy a SONY A6000 and a prime and you’d easily kill all the smartphones.
Also, who test without taking f‑number into account? 1.8 to 3.5 is 4 times the light.
No v20 In this is a failure. The g6 is not nearly as capable in many areas
Good marketing really works though. Smartphone fans who spend lots of money just to please the ego will not accept the fact that camera phone is not even near when it comes to video and picture quality of a mid-range DSLR. It is not easy to accept the fact we spend lots of money on a crappy phone camera. So, we tend to deny the fact and mock everyone who tells them they got screwed. I think the best way to address the issue is to accept the fact that camera phones still suck and we tend to buy overpriced phones. We got screwed. Deal with it.

Use Google Pixel to fill that minor gap!!
its like comparing pc to console a good camera with the right person using it will destroy ANY smart phone only a moron that doesn’t know anything about photography will say smartphones take better pictures lol
Why would anyone listen to a nonprofessional photographer. The review is bland. I am sure theres more to photography than just random pics he just shot
Who give a shit!
You have your smartphone always with you, no special bags, no worries about cleaning, thieves airport customs, ecc.
You just cant beat camera esp zooming adding lens. I have s8 but still not satisfy with the quality.
slap a nifty fifty (50mm f1.8) on that body and it will have much better depth of field (bokeh) in day light and a cleaner brighter image in low light than phones…
Lg g6
‘You can’t change the apparatue on the phones’ yes u can pro mode!
The main advantage of a camera is the control (dials, buttons), changable aperture and zooming (or using different prime lens), which today’s phone will never have without accessaries. (S9 can change aperture but only 2 gears)
Most of the time the dedicated camera made a little better photos but in few cases I preferred smartphone image.
Good video!!!
For 95% of the photos, smartphones can do almost just as good as dedicated cameras except perhaps full frame dslrs. I have an MFT camera and a whole bunch of lenses. I will get one or two stunning shots from the camera but 95% of the time my samsung phone can get the same results. Phones can do macro shots but large sensor cameras, u need to break the bank to afford macro lenses. For a casual photographer like myself, I will stop buying lenses for my mft camera.
Samsung is still the low light king amongst smartphones.
8:00 “if in the conditions are ideal” — thats the point. Do you think people take photos only with “ideal light”?
So much angry comments. It’s hard to accept the fact that entry level mirrorless just useless.
Now try to take a panning shot and see the results from smartphone.
Business Opportunity in Ruvol
I have invented a Board Game [still unpublished and not yet out in the market] that I believe is guaranteed to be as challenging and exciting as CHESS. I called it “RUVOL.”
It is my hope that one day Ruvol may surpass chess as the “Number One Board Game in the World.”
The weakness of chess is it always starts in fixed positions that the opening moves become “memorizable.” In fact, not a few have so mastered the moves that they can play against their opponents “blindfolded.” It is for this very reason that the great Bobby Fischer introduced his so-called “Fischer Random Chess,” where the starting position of the pieces is “randomized” to make the memorization of openings impracticable. Fortunately, it is also for this reason that I invented Ruvol where “every game” has been calculated to be a challenging one to play.
HOW IS RUVOL PLAYED and HOW YOU CAN MONETIZE IT?
I detailed everything in my YouTube video. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcqth0m3-R0
BIG MONEY POTENTIAL IN RUVOL!
It is worthwhile to note that the people who play chess will be the same people who will play Ruvol. In my Google search, I learned there are around 800 million chess players in the world. Even just a small percentage of these 800 million is good enough to earn big money from Ruvol either as an ONLINE GAME BUSINESS or as a PHYSICAL PRODUCT DISTRIBUTOR.
