I’ve had this phone for a year now and I love the squeeze thing!
It makes more room on the home screen for oth­er apps and I don’t have to exit my app when I want to use my cam­era. Only neg­a­tive I’ve got is that when I take a screen­shot I often get those blue dots. But that might be just me squeez­ing it too hard.

I’ve nev­er acti­vat­ed Edge Sense …nev­er saw a need for it. Now, his “This phone is not per­fect” com­ment, he notes SOLELY his opinion…n/thing more, and n/thing less.

The no head­phone jack is terrible…I get that, but look­ing at where the indus­try has moved since, well it is what it is. The “super shiny and reflective”…RU kid­ding me!??! What does THAT mean? Aren’t ALL glass phones just that? SMH. And again, “I THINK the mat­te blue anodized edges would have looked hot­ter all the way around…” Sure, HE thinks…it’s his opin­ion. As far as the fin­ger­print read­er being “annoy­ing­ly small” (I don’t even USE that fea­ture), and the bezels being annoy­ing­ly big(?). Here again, OPINION . I know it’s hard for s/one when review­ing to refrain from opin­ions, but favoritism and dis­sat­is­fac­tion can shine thru all to often…shine as much as the back of this HTC phone 😉

And on a side note regard­ing the backs of this model…there is no phone on the mar­ket even as of TODAY (Jan 6, 2020) that has a glass back that is as rich look­ing as this mod­el phone…they all pale in com­par­i­son. The qual­i­ty SCREAMS and oozes out of this phone, just sayin’~~~~~~~~~:)

i love the edge sense cuase i play music con­stan­ly, dont have to open my phone to play the music.… just a squeeze.

Here I am on my HTC U11. What a bad review. This phone is still good, haven’t had any, yes any issues. Still fast, has a great cam­era, amaz­ing in low light. Bat­tery still going strong. Only bad thing no Android 10 and prob­a­bly nev­er will. The squeeze fea­ture is great, short press screen­shot, long press torch.

Com­plete­ly out­dat­ed, but I’ve had this phone since the begin­ning. The edge sense was great to set up short cuts, espe­cial­ly when my pow­er but­ton quit work­ing. Ulti­mate­ly, it did­n’t save me from hav­ing to get a new phone because the pow­er but­ton total­ly stopped work­ing to turn it on, but that’s not the point. lol

This is still my main phone and I love it! The squeeze func­tion, which I expect­ed to be a some­what point­less gim­mick, is sur­pris­ing­ly useful.

I’m a 4 year user of the HTC u11+ and I have to say it’s such a shame nobody payed atten­tion to this phone. It’s just per­fect. I’m run­ning Android 9 and while secu­ri­ty updates are not a thing any­more, the phone still per­forms great. It does­n’t shut down before it hits the 1% bat­tery lev­el, it still has all its fea­tures work­ing (i payed atten­tion to the edge sense in par­tic­u­lar) and it still runs extreme­ly smooth­ly for a phone its age. The build qual­i­ty rivals if not exceeds that of the iPhones. 

Too bad HTC died, the u11/u12 line was the last true flag­ship HTC released and they went out with a bang.

Edit: I’m not sure if it has a dac or not but when I con­nect­ed it to sev­er­al speak­ers (via wire), it sound­ed loud­er and fuller than Sam­sung, iPhones and oth­er main­stream basic btch phone out there (EVEN 4–5 YEARS NEWER PHONES). Haven’t test­ed any Sony phone yet regard­ing this top­ic, but I think only them can come close or sur­pass this capability.
