Aboard the Inter­na­tion­al Space Sta­tion, Expe­di­tion 52 Flight Engi­neer Peg­gy Whit­son of NASA dis­cussed her record-break­ing mis­sion on the out­post dur­ing a pair of in-flight inter­views Aug. 9 with KMA Radio in Shenan­doah, Iowa and Space.com. Whit­son, who set the record for most days in space by a U.S. astro­naut back in April, is head­ed for the com­ple­tion of a 289-day flight on this, her third long dura­tion flight on the sta­tion. She is sched­uled to return to Earth on Sept. 3 in Kaza­khstan on a Russ­ian Soyuz spacecraft.
