THANK YOU! This topic is rarely talked about in tech journalism, and it’s a really important issue. (On Privacy)
Hey I have joined your pixel 2 xl international giveaway i am from kerala, india will it be shipped if I win
Did I hear you right…please don’t worry that Google or Apple? What in heck does Apple have to do with this…Apple doesn’t sell data or ads for that matter
You’re in Southwestern Ontario? In Canada?

My money says Google knew about the feature and didn’t think anyone would catch on. Why do you think the only fix for it was to disable the button altogether? It could’ve been done through software had it been a software issue, but the button was designed to do just what it did, spy on you. Oh, and Google does people’s email. Research it. They’re a shady company
u are stupid. ur videos are stupid. do us a favor and leave android authority
I barely trust amazon on these things, not even considering google
Link for the shirt?
Yet everyone is still excited for the new Pixel 2 that listens to your surroundings ALL THE TIME to identify music that’s playing around you? Not surprised.
Android Authority, Please make a video of Bangladesh Budget Phones. Please
It was caused by the material they used. It triggers the sensor like tapping it. Still the best smart home device for the price.
1965: “I shouldn’t say that, our phone might be wiretapped“
2017: “Hey wiretap, what’s a recipe for pancakes?”
I have no problem with Google collecting people’s data because quite frankly only people who have something to hide worry about “Privacy”. What? You worried they gone find out you cheating on your wife and blackmail you?
that’s why simplicity is the key, none of these gimmicky gadgets are necessity, google is already famous for such issues
Apple wins again!
They are only sorry they got caught!
Sorry, but this is the exact reason why I won’t buy a Google Home or Amazon Echo or similar devices. I’ve turned off those similar features on my phone as well. If I want something to record everything I say, I will get a Furby.
Did u just mention gujarat? What do those females want?
Opening statement is slightly misleading. To be clear, that Home Mini bug affected a small portion of devices which also happened to be pre-market-date devices given to event attendees. The very first batch that came out not even 2 weeks ago had the issue. The devices that will ship to regular Joe consumers in November won’t be affected. A privacy concern for sure, but in perspective this affects almost no one since the product isn’t available for purchase yet and “the new Google Home Mini’s” currently constitutes several thousand at worst.
This is really just being overblown. Only a few were affected by the bug. It’s not some conspiracy.
Audio is so low on your video
Tries to compare Google bugging to our use of fossil fuels. Then says he doesn’t want to go overboard.
Hope the next waiter that has to serve you leaves a kinky pube in your food
yikes.
First Samsung Smart TVs caught listening to you and now Google home devices too… Please… The only mistake Google made was they got caught. 💯
they may disable it but you already know the nsa is about to reactivate it
Upon the creation of Google privacy took a “seat in the back of the bus”.….nothing surprises me anymore.
Google, etc. don’t care about “your” data, but once they can, someone will use it.
Did he say Gujarat?
JAYCE
that old android notification sound at the beginning was random
election dear radical why bright complete islam.
So they put in a feature, and then people buy it because of that feature. Then Google removes it. That’s bait and switch. People should get like 25% back.
